Please. I don't get this thread. As far as I'm concerned, both sides
have aired their opinions up to the fullest. My PhP 0.70, then I quit.
I'm pretty darn sure that the "u"'s have been explained quite thoroughly:
they are the product of one (or more) styles of Romanization. They are
all correct (Ukyo, Ukyou, Souun, _ Soun, Tendo, Tendou). [I would prefer
to use the ones with long o sounds o myself, but that's me.] In any case,
which ever set you might use, be consistent (Would the Tendou doujou be in
Toukyou?) and check a dictionary (jishou) for your spellings. (If only the
world were full of Japanese compilations... I refer to the memory collection,
myself.)
So please, if you must check the names, go to the source... buy/borrow/beg/
steal a copy of the original manga (or the memory collection), and have
someone
translate those little hiragana characters to the side, and stick to that.
