I recently got ticked off at the spelling and grammar C&Cs I was
getting. Speaking of spelling what's with the extra "u"s in Ranma 1/2
fics? Ryouga, Ukyou, Tendou. These all have extra "u"s in them. Where
are they coming from?!!

They come from the Furigana that accompanies the Kanjis in the Japanese
manga.

Ryouga = RI YO U GA

Ukyou = U KI yo U (Note that in this case the yo is smaller
			meaning it modifies the sound of the leading
			gliph, changing it to "Kyo"

Tendou = TE N DO U

The Furigana are a pronunciation guide for children who do not know all of
thier Kanjis yet, and accurately express (using Kana) how one should
pronounce given names. As far as I know there is no "ANSI" spec for the
spelling of Japanese words in English, and I've seen all of the above with
and without the "u", The Ranma Memorial Book spells them without
the "u", but leaving the "u" in more accurately represents the correct
pronunciation.

I'd suggest that it really matters not one fetid dingo's kidney, that you
just get over it and accept either one.
