The following is a message I sent to sarges@uconect.net
There, fansubbed anime is being sold for around $15 / 4 eposode tape.
In my opinion, this is wrong and should be stopped.
I'm not asking for criticism on my motives for writing this, 
I'm simply bringing it to people's attention.

        I think this is utterly dispicable.  Not only do you sell *FREE*
merchandise for nearly 4x the cost of the tapes, but you endanger a very
special subculture.
        Fansubbed anime is a free artform, it is meant to allow people to
cheaply explore the art, and spread it's popularity.  The way you are
blatantly displaying it stands a chance of contributing to the downfall of
this.
        In short, all you're doing is bootlegging, this is not acceptable.
Besides, I'm sure that there are enough people on my side to cause you
enough trouble to the point at which it's not worth doing anymore.
        Anime is something special to many people, we can't let you
destroy it for the rest of us.
