Good story.  But Cid DID NOT BUILD THE HIGHWIND.  He stole it

He didn't?  I've always been under the impression that he

originally

built it, Shinra grabbed it, then Cid got command back when the

crew

mutinied.  

Actually, it stands to reason Cid built the Highwind. In addition to
being one of, if not the, best aerospace engineer on the Planet,
think about it: the ship is *named* after him. Doesn't it stand to
reason that the "Highwind" was built by *CID HIGHWIND*?

What I think happened it that Cid built it, but Shinra payed for it.
Just like the funded the space program. So "legally" Shinra should
be the owner of the Highwind.
