In normal writing, there really isn't that big a difference between 1st
and 3rd person writing. Depending on where the story takes you and what
you have in mind for character and plot devlopment sometimes you'll have
the method of narration handed to you. I know some of the stories I did
way back in high school creamed to be 1st person, and some screamed to be
3rd person.
In fanfic writing the 1st person style takes on an added risk. Because now
your in someone else character's head, and your playing around with a
pre-set notions of how this character thinks, feels, and reacts. Writing
in the 1st person for an anime fic requires an extensive knowledge of the
character, or some interpration on the fringe parts of the characters.
The work becomes tougher when you sit down and get into the first person
for anime, for now you must take other factors into account...
Of course the pay off can be better, after all if you can meet the
challenge you can always produce a good story. That and you also have to
look at the style your more comfortable with. Some people can churn out
1st person stuff like there's no tommorow. Others just scream and go write
3rd person....:)
