Here's part three of my Romance/Ranma crossover. Tell me what you think.

Chapter 3: Akane of Tendo
Ranma took off his heavy crown and put it with his
robe on the high, plush chair in the corner of the room.
Sitting on his huge four-poster bed, he thought about the
new situation.
	"Worried about your father?"
Ranma turned to the voice to see his wife standing
by the door to the bath. "Yes....., I am" Ranma stood and
slowly walked over to her. "I worry that this new attack
may make us look weak, and I can't afford that now."
Akane walked to him and hugged him, putting his
head against her breast. "Don't worry about it, Ranma, deal
with one thing at a time. Have you decided what sort of aid
you are going to send your father?"
"That is what I'm thinking about now. If I send too
much, people would think me giving favors to my father, if
I send too little, they with think me scared to empty my
garrison at my own capitol. If I...."
"Shhhh, like I said, one thing at a time. Whatever
decision you make will be accepted, don't worry. I would
be more worried for your fathers safety myself."
"You would be." Ranma started to chuckle.
"Remember when our biggest worry was us being
engaged."
"That was ages ago." Akane looked into his eyes
and saw the hard coldness that ruling for the last five years
has put there. "When I first met you, you were a pervert."
"And you were a tomboy." Ranma laughed thinking
about all the petty fights they had gotten into when they
were younger, all that time wasted.
"What are you thinking, Ranma, more perverted
thoughts." Akane smiled sweetly at her husband.
"I was just thinking at all the time we wasted when
we were young, before I ascended this province, before I
had all this responsibility."
"Well, we could stop wasting time right now."
Akane look deviously at Ranma, and started to lead him to
the bed.
"I would love to, you know I would, but I have to
find out the requisitions for...."
"Shhhhh, pervert, they'll be time for that later, this
tomboy wants something and only you can oblige."
"Well, when you put it that way, I would be a jerk
to refuse, and you did need to see me right away.."
"I'm glad you see it my way."
************************************************
Ranma turned and looked at the sleeping form next
to him. My strength comes from you, Akane. I would never
had survived this pressure without you at my side. I don't
deserve you. I am so weak. I can only think what other's
will think of my actions, and I cannot rule. I wish I could
just take you away and live forever in some farm
somewhere. Ranma stopped these thoughts before they
overwhelmed him. That is selfish! What about the people
that rely on me to keep them safe, the ones that can't fight
for themselves against the larger forces. Cao Cao, Lie Biu,
The Purple Hoard, if I don't fight for them, who will!
Ranma got up out of bed, and started to get dressed
"Up already, Ranma." Akane sat up and stretched
her arms above her head. "You need your rest"
"I've already wasted enough time here, I must see to
the reinforcements"
	"Wasted?" Akane arched an eyebrow
	"You know what I mean"
"No, I don't" Akane folded her arms in front of her
chest "Explain it to me."
"The time I spend with you is great, but I have a lot
of responsibilities. Especially with my father being attacked,
you must understand."
"Oh, I understand all right! Making love to me is
something my king can't afford to waste time on right now.
The queen will retire here in her quarters if your highness
needs her, for she is very tired. If you need further use of
me, I'd recommend the royal concubines!!" Akane
screamed at the end and pulled the blankets over her head.
Ranma hastily finished getting dressed and exited the royal
quarters with as much haste as he could muster. Ranma
knew it was dangerous to be around her when she started
that empirical talk. He'd just give her time to cool down and
then she would come to her senses, or so he hoped. The
messenger. In all the.... distractions.... for the last couple
hours, Ranma had completely forgot about him. Well it was
something to do, he didn't really need the queen for that, he
might as well get it out of the way.
"Link" Ranma yelled as he walked down the
corridor to the royal waiting room.
"Yes, sire" How Link was wherever Ranma needed
him was amazing, but then again it was Link.
	"How is the messenger doing."
"Well...," Link began. "to tell the truth he fell asleep
as soon as I brought him to his quarters and I didn't have the
heart to wake him, poor soul that he was..."
"That's quite all right Link." He knew how tired the
messenger must have been. "Has he eaten"
"No, my lord, he hasn't" Link looked spectrally at
Ranma
"Link, how far is it from Ling Ling to here"
"Well a good four or five days sire" Link started to
smile.
"And he made it in three, what does that mean."
"It means he near killed himself getting here my
lord." Links smile grew.
"That's a heroic feat. I want a private dinner set for
me and him, in one of the smaller rooms, as a reward." Ha!
Let the others know what loyalty gets.
"As you command, should I inform the queen."
"Ahhhhh.. No Link, the queen is....resting right now,
and I doubt it would be wise to interrupt her."
"As you command" The mirth on Links face was
almost insulting.
"Is there something funny that I am missing Link."
"Not a thing my lord, not a thing."

*********
"So you see, with the way stations and a change of
horse every hundred miles or so, you could cut your time in
the field by half." The messenger, Juan, took another piece
of fruit from the bowl in front of him.
"Good, and I'm glad you got here as fast as you
did"
"So you're going to send the aid, right?" After the
first five minutes of nervousness Ranma ordered Juan to
take it easy. Juan almost fell out of his chair laughing at that
and started Ranma on a bout of his own. After they
composed themselves, Juan could almost forget he was a
king. Almost.
"Of course I am, it's the numbers that is the issue
now."
"Is that what you asked me here for, advice on what
kind of aid to send." Juan must be one of my fathers
personal messengers to be so sharp, Ranma thought. But
then again, under attack he sent the best.
"I invited you here because you did an amazing
thing, and yes to find out your opinion on the battle."
"But wouldn't your advisors, or generals be able to
help you better than me?"
"Of course they would, if they were there when the
fighting started, but they weren't. You on the other hand
were, and could help me much in finding the appropriate
numbers." Ranma looked at Juan's eyes widening
"I'll help anyway I can, my Lord"
"Please, it's Ranma." Juan started to laugh.
	"Like father like son, eh?"
"What do you mean" Ranma smiled.
"Genma asks me to call him by name as well. Never
much for titles."
"I guessed as much, but do you know anyone else
who calls him by his first name." Ranma's suspicion was
confirmed.
"Actually just a few, to be certain." Juan looked at
him in askance. "Why?"
"Just a thought, Juan, think nothing of it." The
Order. The ones in the Order rarely know they are in it.
"Well what kind of help do you need from me?"
"I need to know the deployment of the enemies
troops and how my father planned to deploy his own, so that
I can make a suitable entrance so to speak." Juan's eyes
widened in surprise.
"I have no such knowledge, I am just a messenger
and I just..."
"Please Juan, your loyalty to my father is admirable,
but the longer you stall, the more time I loose, so if you
truly want to help, please tell me what you know." Juan
looked into Ranma's eyes for a second and then nodded.
Ranma knew he knew the strategies Genma would have
used, that's why his father sent him.
"Right after Genma called me into the counsel room
to give me the message for you, he told me to make the trip
as fast as I could, then dismissed me. He didn't close the
door all the way when I left, and I could here all the reports
of enemy deployment." Planned, of course.
"So you know the enemies positions and strength"
	"Yes." Juan looked ashamed.
"And strategies my father would have used, you said
you had a rough idea?"
"I used to play Shoji with Genma and he would
explain the nuances of the game. I got interested and he
started talking about strategy. I learned basically what he
would do with the current situation, so I was able to
interpret the orders I heard him give. I know what he is
going to do." Also purposeful.
"Juan, don't feel bad, it was my fathers fault you
were able to find out, and besides, it will help me more than
you could know. Thank you, Juan, I owe you."
"You can pay me back by keeping this to yourself."
"Not a soul that doesn't already know will learn of
what you told me."
"Thank you my lord." Juan was looking happier
already.
"No problem, just meet me when I summon you to
the war room, we have plans to make!"
	"Yes sir!"
