Okay I have seen a lot of fanfics where they say if Mouse beats
Shampoo in a fight she will become his bride. That rule only
applies to outsiders otherwise he probably would beat her. The
way that Mouse most often tries to get Shampoo's attention is
by defeating Ranma. Mouse figures that Shampoo would like
the strongest fighter and go for him if he won. (Unfortunately
for Mouse Shampoo loves Ranma. Oh well.)

Now exactly what fanfics did you read where Shampoo fought a mouse?

On the other hand...the reason people write fanfics where *MOUSSE* tries
to, or is prodded to, take on Shampoo to win her hand, despite the part
about outsiders and Amazon law, is very simple. Takahashi never *said*
explicitly that the law works differently for native Amazon males.
Therefore, the interpretation of how marriage is won in the Amazon society
is left up to the fanfic authors.

OTOH again, this also makes a case for the Kiss of Death amongst Amazons as
well...but then, with all the other inconsistencies of this nature in the
Ranmaverse, who's to say?
