A Destined Future
by Mark Doherty (mdoherty@mailbox.uq.edu.au)
"So, let me get this straight." Sailor Mars looked between King Endymion,
Tuxedo Kamen and her fellow Senshi. The girls had just followed Chibi-Usa
forward to Crystal Tokyo, and Endymion had told them a passing history of the
city. "Everything's predestined, Usagi and Mamoru get married and have
Chibi-Usa here, and we all band together to create a city that lasts for a
thousand years?"
Sailor Pluto stepped out of... somewhere. "Nothing is predestined, Sailor
Mars. If it was, my job would be far easier. Until it actually happens,
this future is no more or less certain than any other."
The Senshi looked at King Endymion. They looked at Chibi-Usa, who was lying
on the floor, sleeping. They looked at Sailor Pluto. They looked at Chibi-Usa
again. They looked at each other, and then looked at Chibi-Usa once more.
"Rei-chan!" Moon cried, in a moment of decision as she ran towards Mars.
"Usagi-chan!" Mars agreed, rushing to meet her leader.
The met in a hug, and a kiss, as the other Senshi sweatdropped.
"What are you doing?" Pluto asked, blinking, for once surprised.
The two girls released their lip lock, and turned to the Time Senshi.
"If that," Moon pointed to Chibi-Usa, "is what we've got to look forward
to, then it's time to do some drastic rewriting of the future. Come here,
Rei-chan."
"I knew these tongue duels we had would be good practice for something,
Usagi-chan." Mars murmered, before kissing Moon again.
Pluto opened her mouth to protest, as Chibi-Usa, King Endymion and the
background of Crystal Tokyo faded away. She shrugged. "Oh well. I guess that
means Endymion's free." she said with a small smile, sidling up to Tuxedo
Kamen. She always did have a thing for him, after all...
And the world, forever free from Chibi-Usa, was a better place...

Well, I guess if for no-one else, this one can be for Chris. ^_^
