  Well, if you really wanted to, you could allways use charachters from
Welsh mythology:

Bran ap Aurther, the Pendragon, son of Aurther
and of cource, King Aurther himself.  I'm not quite sure what they refer
to him in welsh.

Also, if you've ever read Susan Cooper's "The Dark is Rising" sequence,
they tell of a tale of time-travelling immortals on the side of light.
Very interesting.  What's even more interesting is that the main
characters are all 12 years of age and below. ^_^

That is, by the way, were Bran ap Aurther is taken from.  He also has a
sword, called Eirias.  Which translates to "Blaze" in english.  And the
crystal sword does indeed blaze brightly. ^_^
