I just can't see it working very well.  Please, someone prove me wrong.  :)

It's entirely possible that the Senshi of Perm and its sister planets would
be Dragons instead of humans. I haven't read much of the series, but I did
read that the humans colonized the planet and genetically manipulated the
dragons.

Since the humans manipulated fire-lizard genes to create dragons, the
Senshi of Pern would probably be fire-lizards.  An idea I had was that
the fire-lizards could have been descendents of dragons who (for some
reason or another) died out and the Senshi could grow into dragons (sort
of like the Sailor Senshi gain magic powers when they transform).  In
fact a sighting of these "Dragon Senshi" could have been what inspired
the humans to create the dragons in the first place.

Anyone want to do this?
