Heck, I can't write my other fic anymore. Oh well. Here's the start of
a new fic inspired by Elsa's tryout called "Prophecy's Beginning".
That'll serve as my prologue. Kudos, Elsa. Thanx for the inspiration
and permission to start this fic.
Hopefully this'll be a-ok. C & C welcome. No flames or I'll kill you.
SailormoonS is a copyright of Naoko Taceuchi (god, I hope I spelled
that right). Hope I won't get sued. This is based on the few manga
that I've seen and a bit of the episodes. Also, this takes place at
the brink of the beginning of SailormoonSuperS. But I warn you; this
is more than just kind of wierd. Hotaru's grown up to her normal age
already. Strange, right? Very. Oh well. I switched some things around.
Some characters in this story are clearly mine.
Chapter 1: Encounter
//Song: "The End is the Beginning is the End" Smashing Pumpkins//
"Such fools to think they could get me," he whispered under
his breath with a crooked, morbid smile, looking at the bodies lying
about around him. His latest victims. "Careful. Such actions could
shorten your life. And they just did."
He continued his silent walk to school in the early,
deserted streets of the neighborhood he walked through. He was in
uniform, and many girls thought he was one hell of a good target for a
date with a pretty boy like him. His life was a hard one.
But it was fun.
He was a Wanderer, immortal mage-martial artist with
multi-skills that didn't seem to be vanquished by anyone. Many had
tried to kill him to gain his power.
None had suceeded.
So all those lifetimes of training really payed off.
The more Wanderers he killed, the more his power increased.
But the ultimate challenge for him was finding one that could last
more than a minute or less in combat without getting killed.
Yet there was another reason he had come to Tokyo, the city
of his birth those years ago in Feudal Japan.
It was an emptiness of heart.
He let out a curse under his breath at thinking of that
stupid, sugary subject as he ran a hand through his ebony hair. He
couldn't get soft. He was the best, and the best didn't need love to
survive. Only skill. Pure skill.
Just then, he remembered the prophecy the foolish seer had
given him years ago. 'You will find one that will melt your icy
heart......'
"You suceeded, seer. You suceeded in getting Sumire Kuragari
to actually think about it."
At a certain school........
"I can't believe you, Haruka," Michiru Kai'ou lectured
Haruka Ten'ou (who was actually in girl's uniform. Miracle.) as they
walked to their classroom. "Ganging up on a guy like that just to
defend that pathetic Usagi Tsukino. Pathetic. Don't forget our
mission, Haruka. Don't ever forget it."
"I know, I know," Haruka told her with an exasperated sigh.
"I think you're just jealous that I've found someone new."
"I am not!" Michiru protested, blushing furiously and
stopping in her tracks as Haruka walked easily ahead. Soon enough, the
bell rang and a flow of students gathered in their respected
classrooms for homeroom time.
But in Haruka's class, a new face was noticed.
"Class," their teacher said as a student came up. "I'd like
you to meet Sumire Kuragari. He's a new transfer student from Kyoto."
As soon as Sumire had sit down in his respected seat,
murmurs from the girls rose up.
"He's so cute......sexy too......"
"But so silent......."
"I like that type......"
"I wish he'd smile......."
Michiru let it go, but Haruka continued to watch. Somehow,
the boy gave her a strange feeling he was more than what he seemed to
be.
At recess........
"I saw you watching him."
There was alot of jealousy in Michiru's voice as the two of
them ate their meal together under the shade of a tree.
"What's wrong with that?"
The question Haruka had given was simple yet so hard to
answer when she noticed Michiru remained silent. The other girl was
clearly jealous, and Haruka knew that well.
But Michiru didn't understand that Haruka was only watching
Sumire because the boy was mysterious, and her sixth sense was telling
her he would be encountering the senshi in not only something called
reality and school.
But in combat.
"You know, you could at least tell me *why* you were watching him.
Okay, I admit. I was jealous. But what's up with him anyways?"
"I can't quite tell.....but I have the wierdest feeling he is much
more than what I think he is. He's out of place. Like he's from
another lifetime."
"Boy, you take this stuff into alot of thought, don't you?"
"Gomen, Michi-chan, but I can't help it really."
"Geez. I'm sure you can't."
***
Setsuna Meiou had been following this guy for a while, and
now it had led her to Haruka's school.
She saw him walk out of the building, a dark figure
against the cheerful students. Then, to her greatest surprise, he
stopped short and turned, looking directly at her.
With a twisted smile, he ran off.
Setsuna cursed and ran to follow him. To her amazement, he
jumped up and 'hopped' the buildings towards a distant, deserted
construction site. She looked around. Seeing no one there, she
followed in a similar manner of travel.
Though he was fast and hard to keep up with, she finally
reached the site to find him on the roof, bag placed casually on the
floor.
"You've been following me," he told her frankly in an
emotionless voice. "I saw you quite easily."
"I know you did," Setsuna answered, ready for almost anything that he
could try.
Again to her surprise, psionic flames suddenly erupted
around him as he clenched one fist, and sudden winds swirled around
him, the sky going dark with sudden, rushing clouds. //Song: "Into the
Danger Zone" Kenny Loggins// She cursed again and poised in battle
stance. She couldn't afford turning into a sailor.
But she could use her magic skills.
The raw energy came careening at her, which she barely got
to dodge, jumping up only to encounter more energy, in a shape of a
huge black dragon, hitting her directly and smashing their portion of
the roof they stood on as it caved in.
They were falling with all of the debris just as the dragon split into
mini versions of itself, which she desperately tried to dodge as she
plummeted down.
Suddenly, she was within his range and directly below him.
He pointed his hand like a gun and blue energy erupted from it, coming
straight at her again.
It was a direct hit.
When Setsuna awoke lying among the debris, she was
bleeding badly and the pain was almost too much.
"Tough, aren't you?"
Kneeling on a long jutting piece of concrete, he looked
down at her with a rougish, twisted smile.
"I like that. I'm impressed. You survived. Unlike those
fools that tried which I challenged before. Like they could win over
me."
She struggled up, though she faltered a bit. Her eyesight
was dangerously doubling, but she pushed on. Suddenly, triggered by
his mental ability, they were rising on the debris, back up to the
wrecked roof. He drew out a glinting blade and slashed, psionic energy
from it aimed at her.
Again she dodged just as they landed on opposite sides of
the roof. She was exhausted and weak, but he wasn't injured that much.
"Fuck you," she rasped at him, preparing to send her own
blast. "Fuck you.......FUCK YOU!!!!"
The last of her reserves of power at least equaled him, for
it sent him down again. But he came back up, though this time he was
just as injured as she was.
"You *are* good," he said in a steady, mocking voice,
clutching the bleeding gash that ran straight through his uniform at
his chest. "I didn't expect such skill from an ammature like you."
Another twisted smile. "But not good enough."
As his sudden energy marked it's hit, the world went
into complete darkness.
***
The sudden bad weather and the blasts from the site were
catching their attention. "What the hell is going on up there?" Haruka
demanded, looking up as she and Michiru paused at the site itself.
Debris came constantly down, and people were barely able to dodge.
Some even got hit badly, and this was actually worrying them.
"I see that caught your attention."
Mamoru Chiba came up behind them, sunglasses reflecting
in non-existant light as he also looked up.
"I was going up there to investigate. Care to join me?"
***
Sumire looked in pure pity at the still, unconscious and
badly injured figure that lay behind him. Another stupid fool that had
tried his patience. But she had been good. Just this once, he would
spare her life. Suddenly, he gritted his teeth in pain. Those hits she
had scored were pretty bad. He turned to face the distant residential
areas of Tokyo as he picked up his bag.
He couldn't heal at the remaining power he had, and
probably not even make it to the shrine and residence he had bought
out.
Then, he sensed magical presence nearby.
He turned to see three figures, two girls apprently from
the school he was now studying in and a young man older than he in his
supposed mortal age. He gave a twisted smile that he usually gave all
of his challengers and soon to be victims.
"So you're cause of all of this trouble," The short-haired
girl said in an accusing tone as the young man picked up the young
woman he had just defeated. "Well, you're going down, bastard."
"Really," he said in a dry, amused tone. But just as she
was about to attack, the young man stopped her with a single glance.
"Maybe another time," he told her. "But now we can't do
that." he faced Sumire. "You've caused enough trouble. But we will
meet again."
"We will indeed," Sumire agreed, preparing to jump off.
"Oh, and sooner than you think."
With that, he was gone.
***
Sumire had been right.
He had barely been able to make it to his neighborhood
when he collapsed in a deserted lot just as it began to rain, the
water mingling with the growing pool of his own blood he found himself
in.
He gasped a single curse as he free-falled into unconsciousness.
***
Hotaru Tomoe sighed and tipped her umbrella up a bit to look
at the pouring rain. She was taking a walk with her father and her
friend Ami Minzuno through their neighborhood. The bad weather had
increased suddenly as they had taken their walk through downtown, and
rushing home hadn't helped either. "The weather doesn't look that
good, otousama," she remarked to Ami. "I know!" the girl exclaimed.
"It's so lousy!" "I have to say that's quite true," Professor Tomoe
agreed as they walked past the deserted lot.
But a figure on the ground attracted their attention.
They ran to find a boy, Hotaru's age, bleeding badly and
unconsious. "We better get him inside," Ami instructed calmly as
Hotaru's father picked the boy up and covered him within the shade of
his umbrella. "I don't give a damn if he's not one of our friends. He
needs help, and right now that's all that matters."

Next Chapter:
-Who really is the prophecied one who will melt Sumire Kuragari's heart?
I sure hope that was long enough for you. This has really drained me,
and I hope it's satisfying for all of you, 'coz I'd like to make you
all happy =).
-First Dragonblade
"Until I fall away,
I won't keep you waiting long,
Until I fall away,
I don't know what to do anymore.
There is no good answer,
No good question,
It's a personal disaster,
Knowing what none should have known."
----"Until I Fall Away", Gin Blossoms
PS,
I will be featuring other series in this story much later....but I
need suggestions on which series should join this little venture.
Anyone willing to give some?
And I need the name of Haruka's school. I lost it.
