Hell, I figured that I might as well do one. But this is more based on
a song that kind of fits the character. It's your job to guess what
character I'm talking about. I have a lot of lyrics from a great
song in here, and I think that the song gives it away. I might be wrong
though, and if I am, I've obviously gotten the person way out of
character, so feel free to shoot me if you can't get it because of that.
Anyway, here we go.
----------
'Today, is a perfect day.', the man thought, smiling to himself. He had
scored the highest on the Theoretical Biology exam, the newest course
offered at Harvard Medical School. Even if some people thought it was
odd that the man had chosen to study abroad instead of staying home and
studying at Tokyo University. But he chose to go against the norm.
He walked past a music shop on his way through Harvard Square, and heard
a song being played over the new CD system. Something about it grabbed
at him, something tugged at his soul. He walked into the store, and
bought the CD, and rushed home to listen to it.
---
The man woke from his dream, and placed the glasses over his eyes,
clearing his vision. He desperatly rummaged through the nightstand for
the CD that he purchased that day twenty eight years ago. Finding it,
he put it in the bedside CD player, and set it for repeat on a specific
song. As the man slowly lay back down, the light strains of a British
group could be heard.
There'll be times
When my crimes
Will seem almost unforgivable
I give in to sin
Because you have to make this life livable
But when you think I've had enough of your Sea of Love
I'll take more then another riverful
And I'll make it all worthwhile
I'll make your heart smile
Strangelove
Strange highs and strange lows
Strangelove
That's how my love goes
Strangelove
Will you give it to me
Will you take the pain
I will give to it to you
Again and again
And will you return it
There'll be days
When I'll stray
I may appear to be
Constantly our of reach
I give in to sin
Cause I like to practice what I preach
I'm not trying to say
I'll have it all my way
I'm always willing to learn
When you've got something to teach
And I'll make it all worthwhile
I'll make your heart smile
The man tensed as the next part of the song came on, as he thought of
his son.
Pain. Will you return it?
I'll say it again. Pain.
Pain. Will you return it?
I won't say it again.
A tear silently made its way down his cheek as Ikari Gendo fell back
asleep.
----------
Did you get it? Or was I way off base with the characterzation? I
listened to the Extra-Pain Remix of this song as I drove home, and for
some reason, I thought of Gendo. I don't know...
