story.  Also, learning to snip unneeded text instead of quoting the entire
story helps.  I'd say you flop on both counts.  

'Useful' does not always equal 'unabashedly positive.'  I know I, at
least, would rather have one response like this than a hundred 'Wow, that
was perfect, don't change a thing, you're utterly wonderful' replies.  He
might have been a little harsh, but he pulled no punches in pointing out
where he thought the story failed, and I thoroughly respect that.
