'Useful' does not always equal 'unabashedly positive.' I know I, at

might have been a little harsh, but he pulled no punches in pointing out
where he thought the story failed, and I thoroughly respect that.

I don't mind being criticized, but just about every line of the C&C came
off to me as 'This story sucks'. One is left with the impression that the
commenter utterly despised the story. Now, I must plead guilty to having
done such on one occassion (Childhood's End FCT3000), but I didn't think
this story deserved a string of sarcastic comments. Even in my most
antagonistic C&Cs, I try to give some feedback on ways to improve the
story, not just bitter hatefesting. Nor do I quote an entire story in
order to insert a few comments.

New CS Lewis Quote :)
"This does not mean that we are to be perpetually solemn. We must play.
but our merriment must be of that kind (and it is, in fact, the merriest
kind) which exists between people who have, from the outset, taken each
other seriously--no flippancy, no superiority, no presumption. And out
charity must be a real and costly love, with deep feeling for the sins in
spite of which we love the sinner--no mere tolerance or indulgence which
parodies love as flippancy parodies merriment."
