"Illusions Don't Kill"
Ranma/Perfect Blue Fusion
Part 2
After a rather tiring day, Akane returned home to find her father sitting
with a man in a dark suit. Thinking it had nothing to do with her, Akane
turned to go upstairs to her room, but was called back by her father.
"Akane, I'd like you to meet Mr.Yotsuya. He's with <insert name of
television company>, he saw you in the Romeo and Juliet play. He thinks
that you've got a future as an actress and wants you to start in a TV movie
that he's producing." Soun said.
"I'd love too!" Akane gushed, thinking of her chance at stardom, "But what
about school?"
"You'll be moved to a school nearer the studio that will be more flexible
with your attendance," Yotsuya said. "Also you'll have to quit your martial
arts, or at least move to a less active training regimen."
"But..the art..." Akane stuttered, shocked that someone would expect such a
big sacrifice from her. "I've been studying it all my life..."
"And you'll be able to continue, just not right now. We can't have you
injuring yourself in a training accident, can we?" Yotsuya responded,
"Besides you can be famouse just like Jodie - whatshername..."
"Dad?" Akane prompted.
"Don't worry about it Akane, I'm sure you can go back to it in a few years,
I wouldn't put off such a big oppurtunity for the art."
Akane thought for a moment before answering. "Well, I guess I can.. I just
wish I didn't have to give up my martial arts." She kept her face straight
as it went through her mind that she wouldn't be able to train anymore, but
somethings had to be done. She couldn't think of a better way to get the
money the Dojo so desperately needed.
Unknown to all those involved, Ranma was watching the proceedings through
the doorway; after hearing the conclusion, he mouthed the word 'Tomboy' and
turned away, just as Akane had turned away from her life's calling.

Akane sat on a bench waiting for her part, as other scenes were being
filmed. Akane watched on in respect, as the actress presently on camera
went through several scenes. it amazed Akane that someone could flip
between so many emotions so easily.
"<insert actress name>'s great isn't she?" Akane whispered over to her
father, as he sat down next to her.
"Sure is. With time I expect you'll be just as good an actress as she is.
Do you know your part?" Soun responded.
"Yeah, it's pretty easy to remember. Although I am a bit nervous about
going up there..."
"Don't worry about it, as long as you know your part you shouldn't have any
problems." Soun responded.
With that, Akane turned to her script and opened to a page with a single
highlighted sentence. Slowly she whispered to herself "Who are you?" She
repeated this to herself several times before <insert actress name> caught
her attention once again.
<insert actress name> walked down the hall, a dark suited man at her side.
"That makes 6 so far.. someone is killing off all of the city's top
models," the man said.
"What about the last victim?" the woman asked.
"Apparently she was found by her sister, we have her waiting outside," he
answered as he held the door open for her.
Akane was startled by her father speaking to her, for a moment it didn't
register, but finally she got what he had said. It was time for her scene.
Nervously, Akane walked to the stage leaving her script book on the bench,
taking a seat on the chair that the script called for her to be waiting in.
She bowed her head and once again began reciting her line.
As Akane left, Ranma approached Soun, picking up the script as he sat down
in the place that moments earlier Akane had occupied. He looked down at the
script and the one higlighted sentence. With a scowl he turned to Soun,
"You mean she gave up everything for just one line?"
"I'm going to be speaking to the director to Mr.Yotsuya about that." Soun
replied.
Ranma took one more look at the script book, scowling once more he tossed
it back down onto the bench, as he left the studio in disgust.
"Who are you? .. Who are you? .. Who are you?" Akane repeated, before
staring over at where <insert actress name> was standing, joking with some
of the other actors. She watched as the director, Mr. Yotsuya, with the
scriptwriter Yusaku Godai in tow, approached the group. From the distance,
Akane was barely able to make out what they were saying.
"Mr.Godai! I absolutely love the script," <insert actress name> said.
"Why thank you.." Godai anwered before being cut off.
"But tell me... who's the killer?" the actress asked bluntly.
"That I'm afraid is a secret." the writer answered.
Godai and Yotsuya turned to leave, but Yotsuya stopped abruptly. "Ah yes,
nearly forgot. <insert actress name>, these came for you," Yotsuya said as
he handed her a pile of fan letters.
As <insert actress name> was about to tear into the first one, Yotsuya
pulled one out of the pile, "Almost forgot, this one is for Akane."
Godai and Yotsuya made their way across the floor.
"You know you're going to have to decide soon." Yotsuya said.
"I know, but I just can't choose who I want to be the killer.." Godai answered.
At this point Soun crossed their paths, stopping the conversation short.
"Just the two I wanted to talk to.." Soun started, "Akane only has one
line. She's given up so much for this, and I'd like you to give her some more."
"But I don't know where I can fit a martial artist in!" Godai answered.
"She isn't a martial artist anymore, just an actress." Yotsuya responded,
"Find something for her."
"Yes sir, I'll get right on it." Godai said, as he left scribbling into his
notebook.
"Ah yes, I've got a fan letter for your daughter, Mr.Tendo" Yotsuya said as
he handed the envelope over. Soun took it from his hand and tore it open.
Akane watched the conversation with interest, watched as Yotsuya handed her
father an envelope, watched as her father tore it open, watched as her
father's hand was mangled by the ensuing explosion. She rushed over to
where he sat on the floor, dazed, clutching his hand in pain. She kneeled
down and asked him if he was alright, bloodying her skirt on her father's
blood that was pooling on the floor.
"No, I'm fine.. Don't worry about it Akane.. It looks worse than it is."
Soun said, clenching his teeth to hold off the pain.
Only Akane noticed the crumpled slip of paper flutter down onto the floor,
letting her read it's message for but a moment before it became so soaked in
blood that it was unreadable.
Akane tried to think of the possible reasons for this attack, but her mind
couldn't tell her. And the message itself was odd.
It said 'WARNING'. But a warning for what?

well here's the 'second part' of my perfect blue/ranma fusion.. when it's
complete it'll be by chapter, but i will be posting it in installments..
many thnx to Thomas Schmidt for C&C of the first part, it really helped (at
least i hope it did).. i'm considering changing the title to "The Perfect
Half" for a number of reasons, which are all spoilers (hint hint), but i
seem to recall a fic under a similar name already... i can't remember for
sure though... if anyone knows if there is, please email me.. also, does
anyone know the name of any Anime character who is an actress? I my mind is
blank for some reason... also a Tokyo based TV network.. as for Yotsuya and
Godai, I'm only using their names because they do look similar to the image
i'm trying to portray.. which i will be fleshing out sooner or later.. i
have more time now as i just became unemployed once again.. I only need
their names because I can't remember for the life of me any of the names
given to the people in Perfect Blue, also would like the name of an anime
character who does photography (specially the guy from outlanders, but any
other ideas are helpful).
