The greatest pity must be for those left behind, the Kunos and
Gosunkugi. Weren't they as much a part of the adventure as much as any?
Did they really deserve to be left in harsh reality, rather than
departing to the land of myths and dreams with the rest? It's like the
ending of Lord of the Rings, where everyone departs in the elf-boats for
the lands across the sea. Or at least some do.... while others are left
behind.
Reading this fic made me want to walk away and think of
something else for a while. I don't know if this is the kind of fic
that can ever have a sequel, but if you ever feel in the mood to write
one.... I would like very much to read it. Or anything else you might
write. <sniff> Excuse me, I need to go read 'Bitter End' and cheer
myself up.
