First of all, a correction here. The part titled "Memory Dislocation" is
actually Part 12, NOT 13. This part here is Part 13. Sorry for the
confusion. This part is titled "Day Break." Constructive C&C is welcome.
Hope you enjoy this.

CRIMSON SKY
Part 13 Day Break

He knows he is driving way over the speed limit but he doesn't care. He
has to get away from those people. He knows that he should've had a backup
plan. But it's too late now, isn't it? He turns around frantically, his
violet eyes looking for the signs of those men-- yes, they're still there.
He hikes up the speed a bit more and makes an emergency right turn. The
red sport car makes a loud high-pitched screech and turns, almost tipping
over in the process.

Why does he have to use a red car? He should've chosen a more light
weighted vehicle, with a less noticeable color. Well, red would've been
fine normally but today the sky is blue. Why does it have to be blue today
of all other days? Almost, yes he's almost out of their reach. Now if
only he can make one more turn and abandon the car. It should be easy to
go back to his place, his people will be there to back him up.

Another car coming out from the corner is what throws him off guard. He
makes an emergency turn and ends up skidding across the road. Everything
is spinning around him as he struggles to gain control of the wheel again.
He sees a small alleyway and makes a desperate attempt to get his car into
the direction. He succeeds but the car continues to speed, he can't stop
the car! Where are the men now? He doesn't know, he can't see them. All
he can see is that big light pole that the car is about collide with...

He has no idea how long he's been out but he figures that it shouldn't
have been too long since nobody has come for him yet. He feels a sharp
pain in his ribcage as he tries to move out of the wreckage of the car.
The anti-collision device has been completely destroyed while the rest of
the vehicle is pretty much unrecoverable. It is a miracle that he is still
alive. He opens his eyes and immediately feels nauseous. His head feels as
if it's going to explode. With a small wince he manages to stumble out of
the wreckage.

He has to hurry before those people find him. The wreckage is definitely
easy to find and they'll know where to look for him by the bloody trail is
leaving behind him. He has to get some help...but where? He's definitely
not made for this kind of things. He stops to catch his breath and scolds
himself for being so thoughtless. He's not doing this for himself, but for
many others, others who are placing their hopes on him, how can he think
this way?

He staggers in the alleyway and turn at a corner before stopping to catch
his breath. He knows that he can't hold on for much longer and that if he
passes out again, he may never wake up. His left hand goes up to wipe at
the sweat but only to realize that it's not sweat, but blood. He wonders
if he has a concussion, now that won't be very good.

A sharp pain in his side causes him to stop and double up in pain. He
can't walk anymore, he's too injured to go any further. He lean against
what may be a door and slides down slowly to a sitting position on the
ground. He knows he is losing consciousness again. Why has he decided to
get involved anyway? He didn't have to, he could've just led his own life.
Why bother with things like that to complicate his life and endanger
people around him?

*Because ... I...live for Death...* That is his last thought before
everything before him turns black.

"You have to focus and then shoot." Reshion hands Ryan the gun, who says
nothing as he pulls back the the safety catch. "Here, shoot that over
there, if you can."

Ryan gives Reshion a glare before pointing the gun at the pin at the other
side of the room and pulls the trigger. The pin makes a loud cling as the
bullet hits home and rips up the metal, the remnant of it lies scatter on
the far side of the room. "As you were saying...if I can...?" Ryan stares
at Reshion challengingly as he hands the gun over.

	"Someone taught you that before."

"Well if you've already known, then why bother asking me in the first
place?" Ryan sits down on the sofa. "I don't understand you."

Reshion doesn't answer. Instead he moves to stand before Ryan before
giving the gun to the latter again. "Shoot me."

"Huh?" Green eyes widen in surprise and confusion.

	"Shoot me."

	"You're not serious are you?"

	"I say shoot!"

"Why the hell should I-" Reshion wrests the gun out of Ryan's hand and
points it at the latter's temple. "Reshion...what...are you doing?"

"I've given you a chance to shoot and you've refused," Cold eyes watch him
from behind those golden brown bangs. Reshion's hand pulls back the safety
catch.

"You gonna shoot me now?" Ryan closes his eyes.

"Fear is a wonderful thing, isn't it?" Reshion tighten his hold on the
gun, his grasp not faltering a bit. Then suddenly his other hand comes
around to grab a handful of Ryan's hair and pulls him forward, crushing
Ryan's lips to his. Ryan's eyes widen in surprise and freeze for a brief
moment before he narrows his eyes and shove Reshion away. His leg shoots
out and kick the gun from Reshion's hand, the gun slidesa few meters and
stops, out of either of them's grasps.

"What.The.Hell.Were.You.Doing?!" Ryan demands, angry and embarassed.

	"Better than I thought."

"Why you... Argh! Forget you! You're impossible!" Ryan sits back down
on to the sofa before getting up again. "I'm going out to get something to
eat."

Reshion doesn't look up as he starts to put the collection of weapons into
a small case. "Ready to kill?" He asks quietly.

Ryan stops dead in his tracks. For a moment he just freezes in motion
before he slowly turns around to face the blue-eyed boy.

Ryan speaks slowly. "To kill and to die."
