Not necessarily.  Consider:  Now she'll be right there, in the house, 
when the inevitable (from her point of view) break-up occurs.  

Anyone who argues that having kids should need a licence, like driving a 
car, probably saw this show. I pity any child who has to live in their house.
Fanfic conventions aside, of course.

Furthermore, she's smart enough to realize there are 
certain...advantages to living in the same house:

Ranma:  Ucchan!  What are you doing!?

Ukyou:  Oh, don't be silly--We're siblings now, there's no problem with 
us sharing a bath!  *sinking into tub, affording Ranma a view of her 
posterior*  Now, will you stop being ridiculous and wash my back please?

ARGH! INCEST! ^_^

Ahem. Anyway, the adoption way can work, but it does need to be modified
in this story, as the writer has already noted they're changing it, there's
not much more to be said.
