This was a generic plot I came up with even before I learned about anime. I
thought you guys (and gals) might like to try it out.
<Character A> loves <Character B>.
<Character B> loves <Character A>.
<Character C> loves <Character B>.
<Character B> loves <Character A>.
<Character A> faces/is captured by <Great Danger>.
<Character B> turns to <Character C> for help.
<Character C> loves <Character B>.
<Character B> loves <Character A>.
<Character C> fights along side/rescues <Character A> against/from <Great
Danger>.
<Character A> and <Character B> lives happily ever after.
Why is this any good? Because there are two conflicts, first <Character C>
vs. <Great Danger>, and second, <Character C> vs. self. The second one is
the one that drives the story, because the <Character C> sacrifices his/her
own happiness for <Character B>.
Here's a few matchups I thought out.
A: Ranma; B: Akane; C: Ryoga/Kuno
A: Akane; B: Ranma; C: Ukyo/Shampoo
Possibly the only "Ranma gets Akane" certain Ukyo fans (waives hi to Zen)
like, simply because it makes her so noble.
A: Ayeka; B: Tenchi; C: Ryoko
A: Gourry; B: Lina Inverse; C: Zelgadis
A: Sailor Moon; B: Tuxedo Mask; C: Sailor Mars
Yes, you will have to do some reality bending in some of these, and there are
other possible combinations from stories I don't know about. So write about
the ones I don't know about and enlighten me. Me, I plan on doing a KOR
version myself.
