Well, I am essentially shooting myself in the foot by posting this on
the already spammy FFML, but I decided hey, what the hell? What's the
worst that can happen? (DON'T answer that.)

The recent discussion on the revenge fics reminded me of an old post
I sent to the FFML-D (a.k.a. SPAM-ML) a little while back. And, in a
way this post does relate to the revenge fics. Take a look for
yourself:

AURGHS!!! I once again find I am unable to sleep. Why can't I get any
sleep lately? I wonder if it has anything to do with school starting up
again soon? Nah...

Well, while I was laying lifeless on my bed, a bizarre question popped
into my head. (It had obviously gotten lost.) What would one do if they
woke up one morning and found themselves, of all things, an anime
character? Or more specifically, what would you do? It can be any anime
character you like, from any series. It can even be a manga or comic
character. Or hell, a character from your favorite TV show. I'm just
curious to see what people's responses would be.

Also, what if one day you woke up as the character you hate the most?
What would you do? That would be kind of like a personal nightmare, if
you ask me. Oh god, that would be scary.

If people do respond to this, I may too. :) But what's the purpose if I'm
the only one who responds to my post? Beside to annoy you all, of course.

After reading it, I wanted to go out and just hit someone...

  in hopes of that one would win. As it turned

Why did I post this here? Because, in the entire history of self
insertion fan-fiction, I can not recall one instance where the author
took the role of one of the main characters. (I.E. Ranma, Akane,
etc...) They were always an outside character, someone who wasn't
part of the original series. And that is getting old.

I think it would be kind of interesting to see how an author would
deal with a situation like this. Would would they do? How would they
react? Etc... Of course, this could be used as a GIANT wish
full-fillment fic (Who would want to meet Ranma and Akane when you
can BE them?) But, it could also be used to better show the
characters, and for some, it may actually be fun. (Yeah yeah. I know
I'm just coming up with dumb excuses too make it sound better.)

Just imagine Zen as Ranma....
(PLEASE forgive me Zen. Nothing was meant by this. I just wanted to
poke a little fun. I'm sorry if I offend you.)

Zen: This is not real! Zen is dreaming! Could it be real that Zen
is... Ranma!?!  (A smirk creaps accross Zen's face.) Zen IS Ranma!
Zen is the best martial artist in the world. Zen can kick ass! Zen is
popular with the ladies! Oh yeah... Zen's then man...

This is just an idea though. Not a fic challange or contest or
something of the sorts. In fact, it's more SPAMMISH than anything
else. I'd like to hear what you think about this?

BTW: To keep the SPAM dowm, I'll put a reply to address to the
FFML-D. Not this is going to help any, but I guess it couldn't hurt.
(Besides, I've probably ticked Tybalt off enough already as it is...)
