  Deus ex machina.  I think that using Washuu is better than Happposai
appearing with yet another weird magic or an AMS bug or some of the other
cliches.  Another possibility is that Big Bore could advance the Macross
timeline a few years and have Ranma and Ryoga drafted into the military. 

I'm also very curious what kind of crossover you can do with these two 
universes.  I've put some thought into it myself, trying to come up 
with an idea for a fanfic.  I just can't see a way for the two 
universes to interact.  Ranma and Ryoga piloting Veritechs, okay... but 
how does what makes them special in Ranma 1/2 cross over into Robotech?

  The shapechanging aspect does seem somewhat out of place in Robotech
universe.  I think that Captain Gloval is more likely to keep them for
study than risk them in battle.  It will be fun to see how Old Sourp...
