Folks...I've been thinking about it.

The more I defend the parts of this episode I wrote, the more I begin to
realize: if I have to defend it to begin with, then there's something
wrong.

After a while of debating it, I've decided that I'm going to go back and
re-write the end of episode 5. The new version will be posted in a few
hours, hopefully followed up in short order by episode 6.
