(sorry for hte lack of > things but outlook express seems to not like
putting those on all my messages. grrr)

Heres a somewhat disturbing fic I came up with shortly after
releasing My Dying Wish... someone was chatting me up in AOL at

Clown: Ahh death... when you die you float.... we all float down here!

Sarah: I KNOW YOU! You're IT!

Clown: But you haven't touched me... go ahead... look into my eyes.
You'll float.

Sarah: You invited Pennywise to help us review?

Eric: *shrugs*

the time, and while impressed with the piece, implored me not to
go killing myself again. I replied that I hadnt killed myself

Eric: I agree no more killing my love off.

Pennywise: I can taste your fear.

in that story, I merely died... but it got me thinking (which isnt
always the best thing) Anyway, this brief story is the result of
contemplating a possible deliberate demise.

Pennywise: you'll die if you try.

Sarah: *glowing a faint green*

The Suicide

A Ranma1/2 fanfiction by Ukyou Kuonji

Eric: mmm Ukyou.

They had been friends, after a fashion, when they were teenagers,
but in the several years since they graduated from Furinkan High
School, he hadnt seen much of her around. She had joined Ranma
and Akane at Mizunoikan University, and he.. well, lets just say
he had gone his separate way. Whichever way that was.

Eric: I wonder who he is.

Sarah: *now a strong shade of green* I imagine its Ryouga. She would be
Ukyou.

Pennywise: He will be with me soon... would you like a balloon Sarah?
They float... they all float.

Sarah: why yes i would... *screams* (balloon reads: Eric is still a
loser, Sarah is ahead, a headless Sarah is painted on the balloon)

Now that hed essentially lost Akane (and he couldnt> help but

Eric: where did you misplace her at? Did you check somewhere in view of
Mount Fuji.

Sarah: *glow intensifying*

kick himself for never having the nerve to actually tell her how
he felt about her), he took solace in the fact that his darling

Eric: or howabout telling her about P-Chan.. tsk..

Sarah: well what was he supposed to say... uhh hi.. i'm your pet pig.

Akari loved him deeply. And he tried to spend as much time with

Eric: i hope Ryouga is not the one who kills himself.

Pennywise: I can taste his despair.

Sarah: *glowing brighter* You cannot.

Pennywise: it tastes like licorice, if i remember correctly you were
always partial to red.

Sarah: How'd you know that?

her as he could. To tell the truth, hed actually started to enjoy
spending time at the Unryuu farm, despite the pigs. He especially

Eric: I never really understood that, i wonder how he got over it.

Sarah: perhaps Akari helped him accept a part of himself.

Pennywise: (now a giant mutated black pig with a bandanna tied around
its neck, razor sharp teeth and a feral grin) then again maybe he just
buried his fears.

enjoyed taking walks around the place. It never ceased to amaze
him how BIG the place was. It seemed to him that you were within

Pennywise:(normal again) much like my house on Niebolt Street.

sight of Fuji-san at one end of it, and you had a gorgeous view of
Sakhalin Island at the other.

Eric: thats a big place.

At the moment, however, he wasnt wandering around what he thought
was the farm. He was merely lost. As usual. And he knew it. But

Sarah: i wonder if he's always lost.

where was he this time? It was a forest, and the place looked
vaguely familiar, but what did that mean? Hed seen more than

Eric: that forest with the big animals?

Pennywise: *now in the shape of giant squirrel with fang like teeth*
Ryo- ryo...--ryo... bah... i cant remember it...

his share of forests in his travels, and after awhile, they all
began to blur together. The familiar feeling he was getting meant
nothing. He might have been here before, or he might not have.
For that matter, he might just have circled around to where hed
been only ten minutes before. In any case, it wasnt enough to

Eric: then again because the author mentioned it i'm sure it means
something!

Pennywise:(still in squirrel shape) I'll eat his soul

Sarah: *glowing a bright green and the floor underneath her seems to be
glowing a bright green as well* Dont you have a less disgusting shape?

Pennywise: you mean like this, *transforms into a giant crawling eye*

Sarah: *sweatdrops*

give him a clue as to where he was.

It was getting hot, and humid. The air was almost oppressive.

Eric: the pig days of Summer.

Pennywise: he sweats like a pig.

Sarah: will you two stop it!

And it was only what? April? May? When you get as lost as
frequently as Ryoga, the fourth dimension takes on as little

meaning as the other three. Still, it didnt mean he couldnt
still be in Japan -- late spring could get pretty warm there,
after all. He continued to press on through the undergrowth,

Eric: or any coastal reason for that matter

Sarah: i feel like he's in vietnam.

until he came to a small clearing. He was about to stop and set
up camp - it was starting to get late -- when he saw it.

Pennywise: I'm touched he saw me!

There was a body off in a corner of the clearing, by a >clump of
bushes. Ryogas curiosity got the better of him, and he went over
to investigate.

Eric: I am not going to like this am i?

Sarah: no i dont think so.

Pennywise: (transforming once again into the giant pig)

It was a girl, about his age. She was lying face down, spread-

eagled on the ground. There were dark patches staining the dirt
and grass around both her wrists and neck. She had evidently laid

Sarah: I cant bear to watch this.

Eric: *cringe*

there for the better part of the day, as the stained grass crumbled
to Ryogas touch.

Eric: maybe... maybe theres hope.

Pennywise: She floats Ryouga...

Sarah: SHUT UP!

Eric: why does the grass crumbling have any meaning?

Ryoga stood up, and stared at the dead girl. He had never come

Eric: he's awfully calm.

Sarah: i wonder if he's ever seen a dead body before.

across anything like this before. To him, suicide was a cowards

way out. Surely, he had, in his lifetime, suffered more than this
poor soul had. He could not imagine otherwise. But he held no

Sarah: then again self pity is a cowards way out as well.

contempt, no self-righteous pity for the girl who lay at his feet.

Pennywise: *changing once more into the giant pig shape* I can see his
fears, I can taste his fate.

Sarah: hah! no pity! boy all uppity in this one arent we Ryouga?

Only sorrow, a sadness at the wasted life that gave up just a bit

Eric: i agree though.

Sarah: *nods solemnly*

Pennywise: *grins evilly*

too soon to realize that there would be more to it all than mere
despair. He knew from personal experience that even the most

Sarah: apparently ryouga found his own answers.

Eric: but is he happy with the way his life is? or merely content and

earth, if they sought long and hard enough. He bowed his head, and
uttered a silent prayer that this girls soul would find that rest
and happiness in the next world. He could hear the clicking and
chirping of what sounded like insects, and a sense of peace filled
his own soul. Somehow, he knew all would be right for her in the
end.

Pennywise: oh no.. its never allright.

Sarah: show some respect

Pennywise:*grins evilly*

Now, he debated with himself as to what to do with the body.

Eric: self he said.. what should i do? Call the police... no maybe
theres still a chance... no...carry the body... no no leave the body.

Clearly, she had gone off into these woods so that her death would

Sarah: poor Ukyou.

cause the least disturbance for others. Perhaps he should respect

Eric: considerate to the end.

that, and leave her to become one with the elements, and decay

Pennywise: or the deadlights.

naturally. He continued to examine the place where she lay: she
certainly had made an effort to die beautifully. At her head was

Eric: this is very sad.. *sniffle*

pooled the wax remains of what had evidently been a thick, red >votive
candle. Some of the wax had run over a rather blurry photograph,
affixing it to the ground. And by her right hand, stirring slightly
in the gentle breeze, he noticed a piece of paper. Her suicide note,

Sarah: a suicide note doest not imply she did not want to be found.

apparently. It was impaled into the ground by a small metal stake.

Eric: coincidentally one thing sticks in my mind.. Ryouga came to the
assumption that it was a suicide right away... why?

Pennywise: its his own despair calling to him.

Sarah: thats first intelligent thing you've said this whole time.

Pennywise: I know cause i can smell it.

He bent down to examine the note. The handwriting looked oddly
familiar, but the characters themselves made no sense. It was a
random mish-mosh of kanji and hiragana; some of the kanji, in fact,
were characters hed never seen before. He looked around. Could he >
be in China? But why would a Chinese girl be using hiragana?

Sarah: why would he assume he's in china? I'm not big on japanese script
so this is an honest question.

A second look at the note revealed a single word that made sense >to
him. A name: Ran-chan.

Eric: he missed this one the first pass?

Lightning struck. With a mighty pull, he yanked the stake holding

Pennywise: what a shocker!

Eric and Sarah: *glare balefully at IT*

the note out of the stained ground. It was a spatula.

Eric: oh Ukyou. *sniffle*

No! It... couldnt be. Hardly daring to imagine it, Ryoga reached
for the body, and turned it over. It was her, indeed. Ukyou.

Eric: NOOooo confirmation...

Pennywise: you can be with her... down here in the darkness...

Sarah: grrr have you no respect?

Pennywise: *cocks an eyebrow at Sarah*

With tears streaming down his face, Ryoga stood up. A ferocious
howl of anguish filled the woods. Righteous anger swelled inside of
Ryoga. This was Ranmas fault -- again! If there was nothing else

Sarah: according to Ryouga everythign is Ranma's fault... which mind you
is an incredibly cowardly thing to assume.

Eric: *stifles another sob*

in Ukyous note that made sense, this much was still clear. All the

Eric: what does it say!

misery he had visited upon him, Ryoga had forgiven as past mistakes.

Sarah: oh well he had forgiven.

But now, he would not be fighting for his own selfish vengeance. He
would avenge his friend, who had no one to stand for her. This was

Pennywise: she no long stands she floats.

Eric: grrr....

Sarah:*whispers in Eric's ear* dont worry i'll get him... *is glowing a
bright green*

a purer vengeance than any he had ever sought. Ranma would pay
for this: I swear this to you, Ukyou! He will pay!

Pennywise: she cant hear you.

Eric: strange how you switched your tune Ryouga, first you said there
were always reasons to live and how you viewed suicide as a cowardly
action and now you are blaming someone else.

 > There was a rustle in the clump of bushes by Ukyous head. Whos
there?! A young man stood up, clutching a camera with a telephoto
lens.

Eric:!

Sarah:?

That was magnificent, sir! I hadnt expected such footage as a
grieving friend, but that was something else! I hope you dont mind,
but could I take a few more shots? Its for a -- urk! He was cut
off, as Ryoga grabbed him by the collar.

Sarah: You better kill him, Ryouga or I'm going to myself.

How long have you been here?

 > Ah.. er.. ggl.. most of the day..

Eric: WHAT?!

AND YOU DIDNT TRY TO SAVE HER?!

Pennywise: !?

What are you talking about? Shes helping me out with..

Sarah: Humm i wonder if this is like a case down in Atlanta with the guy
who wanted to burn himself on television.

 > Shes DEAD, you idiot!! And youre just standing here taking
PICTURES?! Ryoga grabbed the camera from him and split it in two
with his bare hands.

Eric: welp he's going to get sued now.

All at once, there was the sound of sheet metal smacking against
bone, and Ryoga dropped to his knees. Whaddya think yer doing, you
jackass? That was a fifty-thousand yen camera you just broke! And
now, well have to do the photo shoot over. I swear, if Kazuya >flunks
his photography class because of you...

Sarah:!?!

Eric:!?!?

Pennywise!?!?!?

Ryoga was stunned, and not from the blow to the head. U.. Ukyou?
Youre.. alive!

Eric: okay I"M STUNNED!

Sarah: Doubly Sooo..

Pennywise: Triply soo... i suppose i'll have to satisfy my hungers on
you two.*reverst to giant eye*

Sarah: *flares bright green* you wish.

***

Somebodys gonna tell me this was a rather cruel trick to play on
Ryoga.

Eric: cruel?!? Cruel?! IT was horrible and horrible with for me too!

(Pennywise and Sarah square off in the background)

Pennywise: look into the deadlights Sarah... *the Eye glows brightly*

Im not gonna argue it, but I just wanted to do something with this
scene I had envisioned, and this was what popped out. I think Im
still hung up on MDW, folks.

Eric: MDW?

I dunno. I could write an extended dnouement to this story, but it
seems appropriate to have an abrupt ending to it. Whaddya all >think?
Lemme know at

ukyoukwnji@aol.com

(Sarah powerblasts Pennywise as her body starts to fade, she is being
sucked into the deadlights)

Pennywise: you only half believe! You dont know the right riddles...
you'll float!

Eric: *standing apart from the duelists* This was a good story, though
it did seem a little to pat. Ryouga assuming it was a suicide, Ukyou
not doing anything about it when Ryouga found the camera man. Even
so... its still a good little story. Its dry though, very dry.

Hope to hear from you soon! Until then, ja!

Itsu mo,
Ucchan ^_^

(Sarah fades slowly being absorbed by the deadlights when suddenly she
flares and erupts into a bright pillar of flames. Pennywise screams and
thrashes. He knocks Sarah backwards hops into the the drain and
disappears.)

Sarah: i dunno about this story. it was excessively cruel and Ryouga's
reaction seemed a bit.... contrived? Either way it was a good story.
Bye...
