That's a bit of a presumption there. Me, the reason I haven't read it

because of the big backstory; i.e. I would first have to read #1

#24 happens to stand alone but point taken about the long-running
series nonetheless.
As for not being read, well, I base that on the fact that on virtually
every
poll (like this one), virtually every long-running discussed thread,
virtually every fic comparison of any kind, Ranma fics are the
ones that are discussed, regardless of merit. Yes there are a lot of
good Ranma fics out there; I've read several of them. However,
there are a lot of excellent non-Ranma fics, yet many of them go
unnoticed on any kind of merit mention.
Based on that, I am compelled to believe that Ranma makes up
the dominate fic that is being read and remembered out there.
