Ladies and Gentleman of the FFML....It is my pleasure to announce the
opening of the polls for 18 unique awards that will be presented at the
1st Annual "Chicken Balls" Awards.  Feel free to include any fanfic you
feel meets the requirements of one or more of the categories.

Any author wishing to become a presenter for one of these awards, please
e-mail me and I'll make sure you're included.  Please state which award
you would like to represent and include your presentation speech.  (I'll
fill in the nominees)  

Also, any bands that would like to include their filk songs and play
them at the awards can e-mail me with the song, description of their
band's appearance, and any particular extras you want to add.       

Here are the 18 categories, in no particular order.  Please be sure to
nominate fanfics that were posted to either the FFML or RAAC in 1997
only.  (With the exception of the "Test of Time" and "Fanfic of the
Past" Awards.)


"Worst Fanfic"  (The Worst of the Worst)

"Best Darkfic"  (The fanfic that gives you a genuine cold fear of things
that go bump in the night.)   

"Best Lemon Series"  (Given to the author who's saga never failed to
please it's characters and readers alike.)

"Best Fight Scene in a Fanfic"  (If MTV can do it, so can I.)

"Best Lemon Scene"  (The single, most outstanding, scene in a lemon that
you find yourself reading at least once a day for therapeutic
reasons....)

"Longest Running Fanfic Series"  (Given to the author who's managed to
stretch a 40k idea into a 2000k encyclopedia.)

"Best MSTing"  (Given to the author with the most creative form of C&C)

"Sickest Lemon"  (Awarded to the author of a lemon, so gross, so
sickening, and so frightening that they receive this award!)  :)

"Procrastinator of the Year"  (Awarded to the author who has taken the
most time getting back to a fanfic they abandoned....)

"Most Depressing Fanfic"  (Given to the fanfic, so depressing, you read
"Bitter End" just to cheer up.)

"Funniest Fanfic"  (A fanfic that makes you laugh so hard, your sides
ache and your drink spurts through your nose.)

"Best Shortfic"  (Must be 5 pages or less)

"Best Filk Song"  (All five nominees will have a chance to play them at
the awards)

"Fanfic of the Past"  (Upset that a certain fanfic you enjoyed in the
past was underated and seemingly forgotten?  This award gives you the
chance to nominate it again.)

"Most Bizarre Crossover"  (The fanfic that combines two series that were
never meant to be.)  

"Worst Character in a Fanfic"  (A character that's so bad, lame, corny,
and/or annoying that you skip ahead in the story just to get away from
him or her.

"Test of Time"  (Fanfic must be at least 3 years old and continues to be
a favorite among the FFML.)

"Chicken Cannon Target of the Year"  (This award goes to the author that
everyone would like to see get his/her just desserts.)
