Nabiki may *style* herself a businesswoman, but she is not one.  She is a
grifter -- a small-time con artist and blackmailer.  This is a woman who
thinks the golden rule is "do unto others for as much as you can get."  She
might be shamed into returning the tape, but she far more likely to run a line
of bullshit about how she's only doing this because she likes Ranma than to
acknowledge that she owes him anything.

[Ranma opens the box and looks inside with surprise.
Tucked carefully together are a roll of film, a sealed

Again, Nabiki would never admit that she owed anyone anything.  In fact, It's
a stretch to see her give back the originals at all without being forced to.  

Alternatively, we're considering dropping "Nabiki's note" complete.

Drop the note.  If you want a pithy quote from Nabiki, P.T. Barnum would be appropriate.
