The trip to the temple seemed rather pointless. Oh, Brett gained the 
ability to time-jump, but it sure was convinient for him and Urd that the 
magic knights were going the same way at the same time. Also, whatever 
motive Mokona or Clef wanted at the temple seems to have been forgotten as 
if it never mattered.
As to the Lord of Chaos, you've got some explaining to do- someday. The 
vase, the only artifact capable of summoning the Lord, was destroyed and 
the last copy of the Lord and the Ultimate program was erased by Skuld.
