People actually DO read these things! This MLs definitely
a keeper...

Pretty straight forward eh? Well, I wouldn't question
it myself I didn't have this other element I wanted
to include in the story.
This idea actually copies the premise of another fic with a similar story
line. However I've never seen the author continue it so you might be safe.
However you've added twists like them creating a world.
Interesting...do you perhaps have what this author has done already?
[snipped]
In my opinion, these are two very serious ideas which
I constantly am making reference to in my first three
chapters. Unification of the true story on all levels
is what I am trying to achieve. BUT, I've never seen
anything like this. I am not really an experienced
fanfic writer, but I've written many novellas; I'd
like to know why I do not see anything like this
neither achieved nor attempted. Perhaps it is because
I do not search hard enough for these stories?
Although fanfiction would be an interesting medium to search these two very
serious ideas it can quickly turn into simply a way for the author to
express thier own views on the issues. Also from the outside, to me at
least, it doesn't sound like an appealing story. BSSM can be serious I just
don't think it has the proper setting to make any type of strong statements
that you want to make and remain true to form. That's just my opion based
on what I read above.
That's what I've been debating a lot recently...
what's more impotatnt in the fanfic? the fan or the fic?
Anyways...I'll submit a bit of what I've got...
I went fast during 40 minutes for writing a third
chapter...too fast? I'll submit this rough draft...in....oh...
say a few minutes? ^_^
-) Is it useful to use main characters from anime and
allow their characters to be altered OVER THE TIME
OF THE STORY in order to conform to ideas which
are neccessary for the development of main characters
who are outside of the anime series?
It depends upon how much alteration in how much time. It is certainly
reasonable to have main anime characters grow to fit your purposes. However
radical shifts in personality are not a good idea because it would have to
be something very extreme for the shifts to take place... it sounds like
you want all the cahracters to change.
Here, the problem is with Hirasawa Hajime, Chiba Mamoru,
and Tsukino Usagi. The first two, as you might guess,
are my own character creations...you probably won't get
what I'm trying to say with the first name; let's just
say it has to do with music.
But anyways, Hajime is a reincarnation of Usagi's brother.
Just imagine the possibilities: yours are probably much
wilder than the ones which I've planned, so I'll leave you to
that. What do you think?
Um... I'd steer clear of that idea. Reincarnation of relatives from the
past isn't unique and can kill a fic quicker then most other over used
ideas. I've seen so much of the "reincarnation of relatives showing up"
concept that I tend to stop reading fics if they introduce relatives
through reincarnations.
Hajime is important...so thoroughly important. But not important in
the sense that he is Usagi's brother. In fact...I could even get rid
of the relation completely and he would still be important. He's there
in order to a) introduce story idea b) be part of a romance perplexagon
c) be an extremely good display of the idea of the distributor and conduit
of energy. So maybe I'll just make him another person who plays an
integral part of the story...
Actually...I also introduce Kaibou...his name means "protector."
Guess who he's related to... :)
Mamoru... that's also another over used one. At least it's a male (I think)
this time.
I've Really been teetering on this knife edge with this one. Kaibou is
dead.
You sound excited about this concept and I hope you do write it. I just
have this feeling that the BSSM theme and main characters are secondary and
only provide for the setting of the story. It get me excited enough to
anixiously await it's release. I'm just one person though and others will
probably like your story.
But if it is a good story...that's the thing isn't it?
What is the price of a good story in a fanfic? Am I paying
too much by sacrificing the BSSM theme? Right now...I'm not
so sure...only time will tell as I continue writing my rough draft.
