There we have it, ladies and gentlemen. That is why any person
should write: because he/she _wants_ to. For himself. Or herself. Gosh, I
hate PC....
It's nice to be noticed when you write stuff. Heck, my ego's
become bloated over the past few months. But that shouldn't be why you
write. You should be writing because _you enjoy it_. Reader reaction
should truly be secondary. Okay, maybe you also want to make some sort of
point, but there we go again--it's something _you_ want to be doing. I
wrote NGEjd primarily because I liked the characters too much to let them
off to the terrible end that Anno gave them. It just wasn't nice....
I mean, for example, look at "Monica/Akira-chan". She writes many
stories about YYH and Bronze/Zetsuai...I have yet to see any public C&C on
it. (And I don't do it, 'cos I just don't know those series.) But she
still continues to write her stories. Maybe, maybe she does get some
private email comments--enough to keep her spirits up on how it's being
received. And I admit, when you get _zero_ response, it's rather
disheartening. But that's not why you should write or not write.
