I ignore what I want to ignore. I'm not forcing you or anyone else to
write Ranma fics. But I don't have to read them. That doesn't mean
they aren't sitting aside waiting to be read, but I find Ranma boring
and written to the point of exhaustion. And, as the person above
agrees with me, I'm not the only one.
And such is your right. But to say that all Ranma 'fics are the same is
insulting. If you don't want to read Ranma, fine, don't read it. But
my work is not the same as the next author's, and theirs is not the same
as mine. To say that they are the same is an insult to us both.
Yes, what you have written may have been good, and you might have
slaved long and hard over them, but please, remember that your fic is
nothing more than a drop in an ocean of Ranma fics, and there are a
lot of people out there getting mightily sick of seeing nothing but
Ranma Ranma Ranma....
That's fine. But once again, don't tell me that my work is no different
from the next person's, lest you offend the next person as well as me.
I went to a great deal of trouble to ensure that my work would be
distinct, and many others do the same. Don't demean our efforts with
blanket generalizations, and I won't get upset. Fair?
(No, I'm not saying you did this... you didn't. But the person that you
are defending did.)
