For any of you who read and liked "Cast a long Shadow", this is a must.
Although the author really should've put the [DARK] tag in the subject.

   Umm.  This has never come up before with my work ... is that really
something that people would want to be forewarned about?  I have no trouble
doing it, but it never actually occurred to me that dark stories should bear
warnings the same way lemons do.  Concerned persons should let me know, since
most of my stories ARE dark (mixed with weird, sauteed with funny and
garnished with a teeeny bit of romance ...)

If I'm not mistaken, [DARK] is for fics that have the following:
1- grewsome/angst-ridden Death 
2- Psychological disaster

There might be a couple more... but I can't think about them at the moment.

The last part of Cast a long shadow should've been marked [DARK] since 
Kodachi got killed there. Although the emotional impact wasn't as
heavy as this episode.

This one should too since... well you know. ^_~
Suffice to say that this episode fit BOTH criteria listed.

I've noticed that the whole series has a doom-and-gloom atmosphere... 
but this just adds to the suspense, it isn't actually dark like the 2
parts I already mentioned.

This one is one shock after another, as we ride Ranma, Akane and
Shampoo's emotional roller-coaster.

I think I'm off fics for the rest of the day as I get over the shock.

   <blush>  Aw, you're just sayin' that ...  But don't stop.

I don't intend to. ^_^

If it makes you feel any better, there is only one other story that got 
this reaction out of me: Stepping Stones by Benares.

Speaking of which, I hope he continues that one. <PROD PROD>

I was so mad at the end of the story that I consider writing an
epilogue rebuttal for Ranma. A small revenge for what was done to 
him.

Like I said.... Brutal. I'm looking forward to the next part no 
matter when it comes out.
