But will little Miss "Keep quiet and don't make ripples" Ami do anything
about it? Probably not.
Actually, it's a point I don't think I've ever seen raised in Crystal
Tokyo fanfics. What was Endymion's words?: "Most people were given
immortality" or something along those lines. If people didn't need
doctors anymore, due to the ginzuisho, how would Ami feel? Sure, she
can do other scientific stuff, but medicine certainly appears to
be her dream(not her only one, since she delayed a scholarship to
do some senshi-ing). Makoto can still cook, Rei can still practice
religion, Minako can still be certifiable ^_^ , Michuru can still
paint and play the violin, but what can a doctor do in a city of
immortals? I've seen a couple of fics where the future Sailor Venus
goes nuts, but not Mercury. That would be curious.
The idea's (new characters from the Moon Kingdom) been done to death, then
dragged through the town by a galloping horse, then hung above the city
square to rot for a few days, before it was fed to starving sewer rats. Then
it was done to death again, just to make sure.
How about
Dark Kingdom/Light Kingdom
Where the senshi must face themselves gone bad?
Or how about if they faced Good versions of themselves? Versions that
are pacifists(in an Universe where that wouldn't get them killed, of
course), or who managed to make peace with the Dark Kingdom instead
of destroying it, versions who are horrified that the Senshi can kill with
such little remorse? Now THAT would be an interesting fic, and one I'm very
tempted to do, as a parallel to I'm Here to Help. (No I'm not trying to
rekindle this particular flame war, but the point has to be made that good
and evil are relative terms, and I find classifying someone as "good" or
"evil" as just... wrong).
and of course Dark Moon :Rebellion
The fall of the Kingdom of Nemisis (which does not sound likea cheery
fic)
The Dark Moon could do with some more attention, yes.
(It's not as if I don't enjoy some of the Silver Millenium fics. Trenhcoat
Mask, for example, but the idea of characters from that time really has been
done over and over like a reheated month-old tv dinner that has been sitting
in a broken fridge.)
