There is of course, no IN group.  I show up three months ago, write
a few short pieces that get response, start writing a serial that
gets more response.  I did not get responses because I'm part of
an "IN" group.  Surely if I was part of it, I would know who the
other members are?  Isn't that inherent in cliquishness?  My C&Cs
have not been motivated by reciprocity, but by random chance,
abject admiration, and the occasional person who I think really
needs some help.  But there is no way I could write commentary
for ALL the fiction I'm reading.  

What in group?  There's hundreds of people on this list.  The problem is
that most of them either don't have time or don't have the desire to
comment on stories.  I only comment on a few stories because I have rather
limited time.

But if you want to hallucinate a conspiracy, be my guest.

In the case of the "Mirrors" fiction in question, I think I
can say why it hasn't attracted comment.  I rather suspect that
this kind of Ranma alternate history (taking it from the 1st
episode), just might be a glut on the market.  Until the
third chapter, I noticed nothing about it which would particularly
attract comment from me because I'd seen it all before.  This
one just had more of it.  However, I would never write to the
author and say such a thing because to do so would be the surest
way of stopping him dead in his tracks.  And that would have been
a shame given that it would have precluded my getting to read
the third chapter in which Ukyo and Ryoga really come alive.  
Ranma and Taro are still dead weight of course, but Ukyo's 
"training" technique for Ryoga was hilarious.  Maybe Hunter
Kid (I think) will come up with something equally good for Taro, 
given enough time.
