-Mizu: Hello and welcome to the show. I am, of course, the famous
Mizu, beloved by all I meet for my endearingly whimsical sense of
humour.
-Akane's voice echoes from down the hall, "MIZU NO BAKA".
Mizu gestures at the floating hologram which looks like a spherical
collection of gears: This is our host, Cogito Ergo Sum, sporting
a new look because he's in luuuve. You know, she'll only break
your heart. You're DOS, she's a Macintosh, it'll never work out.
How would you raise the children?
Cog: One does not possess a circulatory organ, or primitive earth
operating system. And to this point, One has found EVA-1 to be
substantially compatible.
Boggs: Go for it, man! If she's got the right software you can
give her a harflrump-
Mizu (holding hand over mouth): And this is Joe Boggs, quasi-
vampiric Irishman from the 19th century who knows just enough about
computers to make the occasional single entendre. But down to
business: Our fanfic tonight is a Bubblegum Crisis fic with heavy
emphasis on A.D. Police, entitled Winterblossoms by the famous
Tanya Muller. I know she's famous, because they put her name
above the title. As ever, our fic was selected by Cogito Ergo
Sum through rigorously logical criteria. And just what _were_
those criteria, Cog?
Cog: My girlfriend liked it.
Mizu: OOOkay! Let's roll Part 1.

Today was my first day as a transport pilot for MegaTokyo's ADP.
Someday I
hope to fly some combat birds or at least a VS-710 Dropper. Till then,
I'm a pilot that
knows how to use anything with a trigger.

-Mizu: Crossbows?
-Cog: Atomic bombs?
-Boggs: Roy Rogers?

I don't know why my Chief Mitchell sent me to MegaTokyo. He k
I
speak very little Japanese. (What I do know, I learned from Anime

-Cog: I would estimate that almost half of the the AD Police speak
english. Working there appears to be an occupational ghetto for
people from the West such as McNichol, Daley and the Chief.
Apart from that, "my Chief Mitchell" should be either "my Chief"
or "Chief Mitchell"
-Mizu: Unless of course there are lots of Chief Mitchells running
around. But we don't really need to know the name of a guy who will
never appear in the story.

videos!)I actually took
a crash corse in the language, but I didn't do very well in it. (I

-Cog: "crash course"
-Mizu: Never say "crash course" to a pilot!

"Good refrigerate, Sir."
Chief scowled. "I believe the phrase you want is 'Good day,
Sir.'
Correct?"
The woman just nodded. She had just embarrassed herself enough
for on
day.

-Boggs holds up a small device: Someone should buy her one of these
Python Portable Translators. (Speaks into device) Pleased to meet
you.
-Device (in Japanese): Pleased to have sex with me.
-Cog: "one day"
-Mizu (sings): ...my prince will come... (Boggs thwaps Mizu on the
head)

The lady was saved from any more humiliation by a young man storming
into the
office. He was followed by another man that entered a little more
sedately. The first man
had thick brown hair that fell to the top of his shoulder blades and
dark eyes. He dressed

-Boggs: Hey Leon! Get a haircut!
-Mizu: Is that really Leon? His hair isn't usually that long.
In any case, I think the first two sentences would be better combined
into "...storming into the office, followed by another man who entered
more sedately."

getting me out of there.>" She realized why Daley looked confused and
repeated her
statement; this time in bad Japanese.

-Boggs: Why doesn't he speak English, like just about any celt?
-Cog: The author may be using the assumption that McNichol and Daley
are second generation immigrants.
-Mizu: However, I recall Daley reading a document from the United
States in Double Vision.

Ash picked up one of the pictures. It resembled a Battlemover DD
in a
bestial sort
of way. It had a body like that of a cat and as such, walked on all

-Mizu: Look! It's Garfield!

fours. Instead of having
one tail, this Boomer had several Ribbon Cutters. Its skin was a

-Boggs: Nice piecea hardware. Imaginative. Where do you shovel in the
coal?
-Mizu: Joe, the world will NOT be saved by steam!

reflecting a good amount of ammo. In the photo Ash held, two missals
were being fired

-Boggs (singing): Take two letters, McNichol!
-Cog: That should be "missiles".
-Mizu: Of course Genom might have invented the armour
piecing postcard...

from a pair of shoulder mounted launchers. The mouth/ head laser was
likewise firing. At
the same time, it was doing a good impression of a cat with a cheap toy
mouse. Except
that the "mouse" was an armored ADP troop transport.

-Boggs: Like I said, one nice looking robot, but that pose is
really unnatural. If it's clawing the troop transport that
means the missiles will be going right into it and exploding
in the critter's face. Leon has a whole handfulla pictures.
Why not show the things it can do with picture after another?

Leon looked at the pilot as if seeing her for the first time. Ash
held
out her hand.
"Ash Storm. Good to finally meet in person."

-Mizu: She was being way too modest about her Japanese skills.
Her accent may be bad, but she seems to have the conversational
basics.
-Cog: However, the subject appears to have a self-esteem deficit,
compensated by a tendancy to boastfulness until she embarasses her
self.
-Boggs: I figger she's just a perfectionist.

"Oh, you do remember," said Ash, feigning shock. "I didn't think
you
saw me."
Leon blushed as Nene and Daley laughed. In a failed attempt to
regain
his

-Boggs: Geez, this Leon blushes easily. I'da expected him to
move right into flirt mode.

Leon and the kid looked up and saw the Neko hovering just out of
reach
for the
Boomer to pounce on. As they watched, Ash dodged a pair of rockets and
fired a pair
back.

-Mizu: Script immunity in action. If Ash wasn't a title character
there's no way that transport could have dodged the missiles, no
matter how good the pilot might be.

The third swipe that would of decapitated him never came.

-Cog: "would have"
-Boggs: Nothin' wrong with "would of", although "woulda" has
more style.

The four women vaulted into the air and landed in front of the
beast.
It gave up on
using Leon as a scratching post and leaped at them. As they scattered,
the white-armored
one yelled to Leon, "Get out of here! Without your suit, you will be
killed!"

-Boggs: Bad plan. If he stays still, the critter won't acquire
him as a target. If he moves, he's fair game.

piece. The CC-1 had manage to nearly crush the right leg of the power
suit. As it was ,
Leon's leg was pinned and until he could get his leg out, the only way
to get him to safety
was to haul him, suit and all.
Priss was getting ready to cut the leg off, when the three of
them
heard Linna's cry

-Boggs: She was gonna cut Leon's leg off!?

Priss relayed the plan to Sylia. By this time, the Boomer had
begun to
take up
defensive positions. It had backed away from Linna and was now crouching
like a
cornered cat. Priss had a bad feeling about this behavior and looked up
in time to see three
BU-55C Boomers coming.

Mizu (morphs into SD Boomer): "Here kitty! Bad kitty! Bad!"

Ash quickly complied. When they were about a meter off the
ground, she
launched
her remaining missals. She didn't wait to find out weather they did any

-Boggs (falsetto): "Dear Mom. 4 boomers are trying to kill me. How
are you?"
-Cog: "whether"
-Mizu: Never say "weather" to a pilot.
-Cog: Even with an injured member, the KS should have been able
to leave more quickly on their own, than on an overloaded police
transport.

good or not. She
got the signal that everyone was on board and punched the afterburners.

-Boggs: Afterburners, on a transport?
-Mizu: Boy, she sure modified that baby!

"I want to die when there are cherry blossoms on the trees. Then
the
last thing I
see on this world would be something beautiful."

-Boggs: That's it. She's gonna die.
-Mizu: Well, there's a reason why they call them the Already Dead
Police. Lets roll the second part and see.

the transport pilot from America." Ash nodded. "Nene talks about you all
the time! I'm
Syila Stingray."
A half hour later, Ash was seated on an extremely soft sofa
looking at
a picture of
a young Syila with a man that resembled her a bit. Sylia had her arms

-Cog: "Sylia" twice.

"I was twelve when he was killed," Syila said pouring hot the hot
liquid into a

-Cog: Three times.
-Mizu (sings): ...a lady. A couple more of those later. It must
be one of those words for Tanya that invites typos.
-Boggs: Oh yeah. I do that with Fred Tucker. There's also a
spare "hot" in there.

"Isn't that kind of hard for him, working in a lingerie shop, I
mean?"
Ash asked
sipping her tea.

-Boggs: Oh yeah, helping women buy lingerie. Must be hell for
the little hentai...

Nice ladies who
sell lingerie do not go around in high-tech armor and blow up rampaging

-Boggs: What I want to see is a nice lady who goes around in high
tech lingerie and blows up rampaging boomers! Say, is B-Ko doing
anything these days?

understood English. "Well my parents were also killed in a so-called
Boomer rampage. My

-Cog: Most Boomer rampages are genuine malfunctions. They aren't
all insidious schemes.
-Boggs: Says you!

childhood home was also destroyed at the time. All that I had left were
my two kittens,
Remy and Rouge. I went to live with my aunt and stayed there till I came

-Boggs looks ill: Gotta cut down on that diabetic blood.

Linna.(In my home
town, everyone knows everyone. But home also consist of maybe fifty
thousand people.

-Boggs: It's not every town of 50,000 which needs anti-boomer
combat pilots.
-Mizu: Maybe Boomers outnumber the people there.

Daley says this happen every year. Today was the anniversary of his
last
partners death.
I guess Leon took it rather hard. He must of meant a lot to Leon...

        "Hey, Daley! Where's Leon?"
Daley looked up from the filing cabinet and considered the
question.
"What's
today's date?"
Ash looked at her watch. "The sixth. Why?"
Daley went back to his filing. "Leon always disappears on the
sixth of
June. It's the
anniversary of his last partners death."

-Boggs: Welcome to the Department of Redundancy Department!

Leon placed the rose on the ground, but stayed kneeling. The red
rose
had a .45
bullet tied to it. The flower itself seemed out of place in the rubble

-Mizu: Nice touch. This "flowers=death" thing seems to be
building up.
-Boggs: Part 2 seemed kinda short.
-Mizu: But I certainly look forward to the next part.
-Boggs: However; don't let Celia giggle. She never giggles out
loud. Just sorta smirks. Anyway, that's one fine robot ya got there.
-Cog: However it's behavior does seem rather aimless. Is this
a field test, or did it just escape custody?
-Mizu: We'll stay tuned to find out.
