Tatewaki isn't so much insane as unobservant.  Extremely so.  Admittedly
he twists events around so that they fit into his worldview, but to a
certain extent everybody does.  Your absolutely right, Kuno Tatewaki is
not stupid, but neither is he insane...just blind.
