SA>Well, in the Japanese, I think that Ranma-chan has the best singing
SA>voice, but that's just because I am a HUGE Megumi Hayashibara fan (She
Same here. Kudos for Ranma-chan!
You should also hear the songs from Slayers, Blue Seed,
and a ton of other animes with THE seiyuu's singing voice!
SA>can go from Total Ditz to Ultimate Bitch in less then a second. And
SA>she's cute, to boot!) As a note, Megumi along with the seiyu for Akane,
SA>Nabiki, Kasumi, and Shampoo, formed a singing group called DOCO. I'm
SA>not too sure if they ever had any non-Ranma songs, but they _CAN_ sing.
Much better than the American VAs.
SA> Nabiki also has a really nice voice. Very sensual and heavy. (And
SA>they managed to do a pretty good job getting an Eigo VA [Angela
SA>Costrain] for her. Same feeling as Minami Takayama...)
You haven't heard Nabiki's song Friends, I think, from one of the
Doco albums (not sure which). Boy, whoever the seiyuu was,
she messed up with this one particular song.
However, in the others songs where the entire Doco sings
together, her voice is one of the better ones. (I like hers
better than Akane's)
SA>I don't think that any of the English VAs can sing at all, though.
SA>(Shudders in memory of the Christmas OAV)
THAT was HORRIBLE.
To be fair, however, they did a half-way decent job with
the English versions of the 2nd OAV series songs. The
original was still better, but they were at least tolerable,
perhaps even fine.
Now, if you listen to other songs like the one from
El Hazard... <brrrr>
