All this talk about chi/ki has given me the glimerings of an idea.  I'll
let the more mystic minded members of the ML chew on this one...

I was reading a book on Tai Chi and I found that in both China and Japan
there are five elements--as opposed to the four European elements.  Notice
five inner Senshi and four outer Senshi.  Bit of investigation (and a long
streach of imagination) came up with this...

The five inners represent the five classic eastern elements.
Moon:  earth or wind (either one has a sort of twisted significance, ne)
Mercury:  water
Mars:  fire (of course)
Jupeter:  wood (originally I thought it was wind, but the Oak
Evolution--and the fact that lightning seems to be attracted to trees
change my mind)
Venus:  metal (the girl may come off as an airhead, but she's probably the
toughest of the senshi)

the four outers represent the four classic western elements.
Neptune:  water (of course)
Uranus:  earth
Pluto:  wind
Saturn:  fire (this fits her powers as a healer and a destroyer, because
fire is extremely destructive, but used properly can be very helpful.)

I don't know how this could fit into a fic, but I'm sure someone will
think of something...
