An author is threating to pull out after getting MSTed.
I'd have to say, feel free to go then. I would much rather see a cull of
thiner skinned authors than any reduction in the tiny flow of marginally
useful commentary.
I wish you'd take a bit to think it over first. MSTing isn't about you or
your story really. It's mostly about the reviewer and their agenda.
I got MSTed once, as an excuse for the reviewer to push a "gay rights"
agenda, and this was in response to one of my weakest "homo-suggestive"
works. (A third character wondered if two girls were involved.)
(Personally I believe in the rights of individuals, but read my fics for
the details. And I'll still write "under the gopher" if that rodent
returns)
You might think that this is a terrible abuse of the art-form that
Joel-sama came up with. No, not really. From the start, MST3K has been
about what the writers of that show thought up and has always had very
little to do with the movies "under review".
