Ranma: Man, Ukyo is *good* in this!

Ryoga: You hit it right on the nail, man.  Personal angst is one of my
favorite fortés, and Ukyo has plenty of it in this.

Ranma: And I love the thing with the mirrors.  It reminds me of something
though...wasn't there a book that used that mirror premise?

Ryoga: Oh, yeah. I know what you're talking about.  That fantasy book where
the woman gets pulled into another world where the mirrors are made to look
at other places, and you can't look at your own reflection because your mind
will get fried.  Good book. Read it in Los Angeles, or someplace. I think it
was called "A Man Walks Through". Forget the author though.  Anyway, the
woman has very little self-esteem and at the beginning of the book, she has
mirrors everywhere just to remind her she still exists.

Ranma: Yeah, that was what I immediately thought when Ukyo started buying
those mirrors.  And using sex to fill up the emptiness within her.  You can
tell she was really screwed up.

Ryoga: I started crying when she started propositioning Konatsu.  Eric
stated in his intro that he wasn't sure that he was treating Konatsu
unfairly, but man, he did well with that, too.  I was heartbroken when he
left her all alone.

Ranma: Why, Ryoga, you old softie, you.

Ryoga: It's angst, man. I know how it feels.

Ranma: So now the question is will Ukyo ever face up to you now that you've
seen the condition she's in?

Ryoga: Man, I'm surprised that *I'm* doing relatively well.  You would think
that I would be in worse shape than her.

Ranma: I think that is because this is *Ukyo's* story.  Did you see how it
also mentioned Shampoo, but she doesn't show up except in a dream.  I
thought that was a nice touch too.  Will she ever show up? I don't know, but
I think I like the story if it stays mainly focused on Ukyo and her feelings.

Ryoga: Yeah, the dream was great.  I wonder if it has any bearing towards
the story.  I hope it does.

Ranma: And we still need to know about this Koje guy.  Confidentially, I
think he's a wimp. I mean, hiding in the shadows while Ukyo's being molested
isn't what I call being honorable. In fact, it's downright cowardly.  For
all we know, he could've been part of it.  Grr...he would've been part of
the pavement if I were there.

Ryoga: Yeah, well, you're not, so shut up.  Anyway, I'm there, so I'm sure I
put enough fear of death into him to make him talk.  I wonder how I'll react.

Ranma:  We'll have to wait and see, I guess.
