Here's the main gist of the letter...

I'm already contemplating a short fanfiction story of Ranma, one in
which he absolutely abhors martial arts, the only reason he continues
is his desire to please his father. The basic ideas/questions
follow:

(1) I might actually risk making Genma a little bit more harsh as
well as a lot more competent, as compared to his anime/manga
counterpart.
(2) I don't know about Ranma and his curse... Perhaps,
I shall include his curse as a motivating factor that makes him work
even harder at martial arts. (That is, of course, I write a
different reality... if I keep it within anime, then I might as well
find a rationalization... :P)
(3) What shall I do to bolster Ranma? I mean, he isn't going to be
obsessed with martial arts... What shall he be interested in...
Flower arranging is probably not going to be a good choice :P
(4) This actually might turn a bit dark, maybe a bit of abuse with
violence... Should it be like this, or shall I pursue a more
humorous approach?

Unimportant jabber about myself:

Anyhow, I'm really finally back and ready to start writing all over
again. The move to my dorm was uneventful, and rather easy as I now
live on the first floor in an entry way that is actually close to the
street.

My network connection, after a bit of working, is finally back. My
Win 95 problems are actually gone as I found out my new DirectX
compatible drivers were causing a lot of problems for the GDI. (I
might actually move back to Ms Word as my default word processor.)

Productivity for me, however has slowed down. Between school work,
homework, the PSX, Ms Visual C, I don't think my writing has
progressed at all. Here's a little example, for a particular lemon
story of mine, I've only written one page for the past few weeks.
