Now... which way are YOU gonna choose?
The Flashman
(Who LIKES being alive thank you very much)
That's all well and good, but what do you do AFTER the battle? (Warning:
opinionated rant ahead.)
Do you check out the story you've been told about the monsters? Find out
why they've been attacking your side, whether they have legitimate
grievances that could be settled in other ways?
Do you question what your own side tells you? Have they told you the
whole story? Could they be the real agressors, or at least partially at
fault? Are they involved in the conflict for the noble reasons that they
claim, or is it for other reasons they haven't told you? Are they
directing the conflict in a way such that innocents are harmed only when
absolutely necessary?
Or do you just believe everything the talking cat says -- because she's
on the side of good and someone on the side of good wouldn't lie, would
they? That in my opinion is irresponsible thoughtlessness, and one of
the reasons why I'm firmly anti-SM and why I applaud fics like the ones
we've seen this weekend that challenge this attitude.
