[Darkness at first, quickly resolving itself into a pattern of 
white and black squares.]

[The squares resolve themselves into a chessboard, littered with 
pieces.  We realise that the pieces are human, and not normal
chess figures.]

    I MEAN IT THIS TIME!!  REALLY COMING SOON!!  HONEST!!

[Some of the faces come to be recognizable...on one side of the
board we see Kei, Yuri, Deirdre, and Cory Emerson.]

[On the same side of the board, we also see less familiar figures.
Lapis Lazuli and Lorlei Lee Long, Lazarus Long, Ishtar, Minerva,
Hilda, and Jubal Harshaw.]

              ROBERT HEINLEIN'S FUTURE HISTORY

[Moving to the other side of the board, we are surprised to see
that Kei, Yuri, and Cory are represented here as well.  Moving
along further, we can also see Asuka Langley, dressed as a 3WA
trouble consultant.]

             NEON GENESIS EVANGELION (SORT OF)

[We finally pan up past the board, to see the two chessplayers
staring at each other.  One is Jimmy, the villain from I Am One,
though his manic grin is gone.  The other is Shasti, looking
equally serious.]

Voiceover:  (this voice starts as Jimmy's, then metamorphoses
            into Shasti's)
            Now it's just the bare bones of what I am...
            A tough guy, a helpless dancer.
            A romantic, is it me for a moment?
            A bloody lunatic, I'll even carry your bags.
            A beggar, a hypocrite, love reign over me.
            Schizophrenic?  I'm bleeding quadrophenic.

[We pan further upwards.  Shasti and Jimmy are revealed to also
be pieces on a chessboard, though this board consists of only
two squares.  Watching them, dressed in a 3WA uniform and with 
a blank stare on her face, is Rei Ayanami.]
