Okay, I once said that I wouldn't post anything until mid-October.
I was wrong. While I should have been studying for my exams
(some people have just started the new school year and I'm already
studying for exams. Have been for several weeks. <sigh>)
this idea just popped into my mind and refused to let go of it until
it was written. Thus, I present you my latest crossover: A Jump to
the Side.

*WARNING*

Extreme weirdness follows.

High-intensity magic crossed around in the air as Lina Inverse and her
friends Gourry, Zelgadis and Amelia opened up on the demon lord
Grhofrzmstdx. It had been a fairly typical week for them: an old, mysterious man
had appeared before them, saying that a great evil, the demon lord
Grhofrzmstdx (the man had stumbled on the word for a few times, but had been
able to pronounce it. A feat none of our heroes had been able to repeat.) was
trying to force its way to this word. After giving a few cryptic hints about the
place where the demon was going to appear, the man had disappeared just as
mysteriously as he had appeared and had left the four heroes to deal with the
matter.
Lina had, of course, been able to solve the mystery, even if Zelgadis
had complained that it was only because somebody called 'scriptwriter' liked
her,
and the foursome had been able to reach the place just as the demon's minions
were able to open the portal. While Lina and Zelgadis had been in favour of a
surprise attack to kill the demon and its minions, Amelia had, as usual, claimed
that they should give the creature's minions a chance to repent. And when
Gourry had said that it sounded perfectly reasonable to him, Amelia had
immediately jumped out of their hiding place and started the her usual speech
about Good triumphing over Evil and all that sort of stuff. Things went quickly
downhill from there.
While the demon's minions had been stupendously easy for our heroes
to kill, Grhofrzmstdx himself had turned out to be a tougher-than-average demon
lord. While the thing wasn't nearly as powerful as Lina's first major adversary,
the evil Monster Shabranigdo, it seemed that the big guns were needed to
kill it.
Lina jumped over a fire jet Grhofrzmstdx shot from his hands. Fireballs
had done nothing, neither had Freeze Arrows and even Gav Flare had only
pushed it back a little. The orange haired sorceress cursed under her breath as
flames sent by the monster almost fried Gourry. It was definitely time to
bring out
the heavy weapons.
"Okay big boy! I've had enough!" Lina shouted at the demon while
preparing her second-most-powerful spell. "Darkness beyond twilight, crimson
beyond blood that flows, buried in the flow of time. In thy great name..."
"Did somebody call me?" A deep, and definitely amused voice asked.
Lina risked a glance up and saw Grhofrzmstdx looking down at her, its clawed
hands resting on what passed for its hips. The last mistake the monster was
going to do, Lina mused.
"...I pledge myself to darkness. And all the fools who stand in our way
shall be destroyed by the power you and I possess..." Lina completed her chant,
hoping that she wasn't doing a mistake similar to the one Zel's minions had
done in the battle against Shabranigdo.
"DRAAGOOOON SLAAVEEEEE!!!!!!" Screaming at the top of her lungs
Lina let the spell loose. Typical to a big, ugly, overconfident demon,
Grhofrzmstdx didn't even try to dodge. Not that it would have helped it at this
range. The shockwave of the explosion slammed Lina off her feet. Shaking, she
stood up. The blast had taken quite a bit out of her. Hopefully it had also
destroyed the demon. That hope faded when the dustcloud settled.
Grhofrzmstdx was standing in the middle of a large crater, totally covered in
soot.
"That hurt you know." The demon said, its already ugly face twisting into
a horrible sneer. Waving its hand Grhofrzmstdx shouted "BEGONE!!!" and a
fiery, red portal opened up under Lina. The last thing she heard before her
world
was turned red, was Gourry's shout of "Lina-san!"
"What have you done to Lina?!" Zelgadis demanded the monster.
Chuckling in an evil way (tm Pantyhose Tarou) it turned to look at the three
remaining heroes.
"I sent the pest to another world, one she will never be able to return
from. An appropriate punishment for one who actually managed to hurt me." The
threesome gasped. "Now, I'll send you to another world, the afterlife!"
Gesturing
with his hand again Grhofrzmstdx shouted "Burn!" To the demon's great surprise
nothing happened. "Ehhh...." A giant sweatdrop appeared on the back of the
monster's head. "I think I just drained all my reserves. Is there any chance
that
we can continue this another time?" He asked hopefully. Zel's answer can be
summarised with one word: Ra-Tilt. And it worked too, you know.

GENOM chairman Quincy looked out from the window of his office. He
looked out to _his_ city, Megatokyo. No matter what the young Stingray and her
band of mercenaries might have said, this city belonged to GENOM. And that
meant it belonged to him. Hearing a quiet buzz of the intercom Quincy turned
around. The face of his loyal assistant, Katherine Madigan appeared on the
screen of the comm.
	"Yes, what is it?"
"Project Orion has been completed. Do you want me to bring the results
personally, sir?"
Quincy was silent for a moment. Project Orion, eh? For a moment he
wondered what project it was. GENOM had so many projects going on that even
he couldn't remember them all. I'll just have to play along, he decided. No need
to let them know I don't know everything. "Yes, do that. How fast can you be in
my office?"
"I'll be there in ten minutes, Sir. Is that acceptable?"
	"Yes."
Switching off the intercom Quincy once again turned to look at the City.
_His_ city, Megatokyo. No matter what the young... Hadn't he gone through this
before?

Ten minutes later Madigan entered and presented him with project
Orion. It turned out that Orion was the name given to the new shuttle model,
developed by GENOM. Madigan was just explaining all the improvements the
shuttle had, compared to older models, when a fiery, red portal opened up in
mid air, just above Quincy. A young, orange-haired girl, who was holding a
sword and wearing some archaic-looking clothes dropped straight to Quincy's
lap, much to the surprise of the chairman of GENOM.
Quincy was quite stunned by this development. It was far from the first
time he held a woman on his lap, but this was the first time a young, buxom, or
actually quite flat-chested, he decided after a quick look down, girl had
fallen to
his lap from a weird portal.
Lina was quite stunned by what had happened to her. It passed quickly,
though. After all, this wasn't the first time she had travelled in time and
space.
Now she would just have to find a sufficiently powerful magical artefact to get
the power she needed to open a portal back. Or alternately, find a telephone.
She looked around. There was a telephone lying on the table, so she grabbed it.
Madigan was staring at Quincy and the girl. How come this reminds me
of the first appearance of Chibi-Usa, she thought.
Quincy quickly gathered his wits when the girl jumped off his lap and
took his portable phone, starting to punch numbers. He quickly pushed the
button
that alerted his bodyguard boomers. "Just who the hell are you!??" He shouted.
Seeing what the chairman did, Madigan wisely retreated to the
sidelines.
Lina noticed that the old man did something, probably called the guards.
She hoped she had time to call to a certain person before the guards arrived.
"The name's Lina Inverse. Sorry about this." She answered to the man's
question. Somebody picked up the phone at the other end, just when a group of
big, blue, somethings crashed to the room. Because the old man had (most
likely) called for them, they wouldn't shoot at him, Lina thought and jumped
back
to his lap and placed her sword to his throat.
Quincy had expected the girl to scream in terror or attack the boomers
(most unexpected visitors he had had, had done just that) so he was quite
surprised when she jumped back to his lap. He had to give her some credit,
though. The boomers were programmed not to fire at him, and the sword being
held on his throat quite effectively made him helpless. At that moment somebody
seemed to pick up the phone, as the girl, Lina she said she was, started
speaking to it.
The conversation that took place was quite different from what Quincy
and Madigan expected. "Oh, hi Keichii! It's me, Lina Inverse. Can I speak to
Skuld?" There was a slight pause, during which Lina turned to Quincy. "Could
kindly you tell your golems, or whatever they are, to leave? They unnerve me."
As there was nothing else he could do, Quincy gestured for the boomers
to leave. Meanwhile Lina started speaking to the phone again. "Hi Skuld! Look, I
was just teleported to some weird place and wondered if you could come to pick
me up? ..." Lina shifted her focus from the phone back to Quincy. "Could you
tell
me what place this is?"
"Err... You're in the office of GENOM chairman Quincy." Quincy
answered truthfully. Lina went back to talking to the phone.
"Did you catch that? ... You're going to come immediately? Great!" Lina
closed the line just as there was a loud *pop* and another young girl
materialised in the room It seemed that she came out of Madigan's coffee mug.
This is even weirder than Sailor Moon, Madigan decided.
"Hiya Lina!" Skuld exclaimed upon arrival. She looked around; just
Madigan and Quincy present. That was good. There was little chance they'd tell
about this to other people. You don't want your subordinates to think you're
crazy.
Lina jumped off Quincy's lap, sheeted her sword an ran to her friend.
Wrapping an arm around the young goddess she turned to look at Quincy.
	"Sorry about the mess! Ta-ta!"
Skuld opened a portal and the two disappeared through the same way Skuld
had arrived - through Madigan's coffee mug.
Madigan just stared at her coffee for a while. The she looked up at the
chairman. "Should I take this to be analysed, sir?" She asked

Fin.

Author's notes.

I know, I have no shame. I made Madigan a Sailor Moon fan. I really don't
know WHY I did it, but it's just something I thought would be funny.

I apologise if the formatting sucked, this is one of those pieces I've
just written, spell-checked and the sent out to the FFML. I also apologise
for all the bad grammar there was.

The next chapter of Half a Sorceress will probably be out sometime in
mid-October. Or at least I hope it will.
