So, basically ...... attachments are find just to read, IF they work
(which there is no guarantee of them doing). But if you want to give
C&C, they suck.
At least, for me.

Roger that.  I have the same type of problem.  If it's an attachment, I have
to: 1) save it to disk  2) convert it to Word Perfect format  3) Retreive to
the message window...   Just to give any C&C.  A royal pain in the hoop,
I'm here to tell ya'.  Reading attachments are  fine, when it works. 
Sometimes trying to read the attachment slows down the computer
something fierce and can even lock it up...  Which is another royal pain.
So.... Draw your own conclusions.
