While the patient claims to have been 'frozen' from his emotions, it
is not true. The lack of emotional display is his defense mechanism
for dealing with the tragedies which befell him.
Despite his quiet demeanor, he is not to be underestimated. The
subject has a history of violence and is dangerously intelligent.
Subject tends to focus intensely on a goal, especially when the goal
is of malicious intent.
The patient has failed to show any signs of rehabilitation, and may
become worse over time.

Although he didn't look like the type, Leon McNichol enjoyed a good
sunrise. It was a bit of a conflict with his nature, though, as he
usually wasn't a morning person.
"My goodness, you're here early, Leon-chan," chirped Daley. Daley
Wong, Leon's partner, was the part of the duo that WAS a morning
person. He took a seat nearby and turned on the television.
"Freak accident," mumbled Leon. "I was awake, figured I might as well
head over here." He took a deep drink from his coffee mug, reclined
in his chair, and stared idly out the window. "Ah, nice sunrise."
Daley nodded. "Yeah, it is."
"Hope we don't get much action today, I'm not in the mood for it,"
said Leon, still staring at the sun.
"Actually, we've already got something to look into." Daley tossed a
file on Leon's desk, to which Leon reacted with a sigh.
"Great," mumbled Leon. He opened the file and read through the pages
quickly. "Seven cargo trucks, each carrying ten experimental boomers,
each of varying model and purpose. Great. Seventy experimental
boomers on the loose."
"Probably stolen to do some terrorist work," replied Daley.
"Exactly," said Leon. "Something tells me this isn't going to be a
good day."
Suddenly, the television flickered, switched to a rather pale and lean
individual wearing small red goggles.
//Citizens of MegaTokyo... I am Mr. Freeze. If you value your lives,
leave MegaTokyo now.//
Daley turned up the volume. Leon resisted the urge to roll up his
eyes.
"Shit, I hate it when I'm right."

MegaTokyo Crash: Hell Freezes Over
=====================================
//Knight Sabers, for what you have done, I shall have my vengence.
Whatever you hold sacred, I shall blaspheme. Whatever you love, I
will hate. What you have achieved, I shall undo. What you treasure
most, I will destroy. MegaTokyo, urban hell that it is, shall know
the second coming of the ice age. It begins and ends tonight.//
Sylia sighed. It was obvious Freeze was out for blood and he didn't
care how messy things got. Things were probably going to get very
ugly, no matter what she might try to prevent it.
She immediately went to her computer room, accessing all the local
information sources.
How did Freeze send that message? After a quick scan on the police
net, Sylia found her answer. Freeze had taken over a television
station. AD Police were rushing to the scene, but Freeze had already
left.
//Sylia? Hello?//
Sylia smiled. Perfect timing, that Nene.
"I'm here Nene."
//Just thought you should know... there were seven Genom cargo trucks
carrying ten experimental boomers each that got stolen today.//
"Freeze's work?"
//Looks like it. There was ice at the scene of the crime, lots of it.
Enough to block off the road.//
Yes, this was going to be a messy day after all.
//You heard his broadcast this morning?//
"Yes, I did."
//So I guess we're on red alert?//
"Of course."
//I'll try to get off duty if I can.//
"That might not be neccessary."
//Why?// asked Nene.
"We might need you to keep us all informed of things from over there."
//Well... if you think it's for the best.//
Just as Nene disconnected, two new voices came into the comm system.
//Sylia, you there?// asked Priss.
//Did you see the news this morning?// said Linna.
"Priss, Linna, good morning. Yes, I did. Get over here as soon as
possible."
//I'll be there in ten,// said Priss.
//Same here,// replied Linna.
"Good. See you then."
Sylia turned to the monitors and opened several maps of the city and
the psychological profile of Victor Fries that she had managed to
obtain from Arkham Institution in Gotham.
The only way to prevent this from becoming a disaster was to figure
out where Mr. Freeze was keeping those boomers.
*
The room was tense. Every technician moved carefully and dared not
look complacent. They remembered what he had done to Mr. Koyashi.
At the center of the room, Mr. Freeze looked down at the mess of wires
connecting the remains of Nora to a cybernetic brain. It was
impossible to tell what mood he was in.
He reached out and grabbed a passing technician, who couldn't help but
squeak in fear and tremble badly.
"I trust everything is going smoothly," said Freeze, not removing his
eyes from that of what would become Nora's eyes.
"Y-yessir!"
"You aren't just saying that to keep me from being unhappy, I trust?"
"N-no sir!"
"How long until she can be awakened?"
"Um... m-maybe another 24 hours s-sir."
Freeze seemed rather unhappy about that, with an icy frown forming,
then calmed down. "Mustn't rush important things like this, I
suppose.
Mr. Freeze tossed him aside and knelt before Nora. "I go now to
battle, dearest. We'll be together again soon, I promise."
>From nearby, Madigan watched all and frowned. "Remember, Freeze, if
you get in trouble, we can't help you."
"Yes," said Freeze. "Mustn't corrupt the noble image of Genom."
Nobody was sure, but there might've been a taint of sarcasm in his
voice. He took one last look at what was left of Nora, then stalked
through the door.
*
In the background, the chief was roaring orders, sending men left and
right. Of course, Leon and Daley were ignoring it all.
"Mr. Freeze? We're being menaced by Mr. Freeze?" Leon was in a state
of disbelief.
"And he probably took those boomers too," said Daley.
"Ever found out what models those things were?" asked Leon.
"Genom refuses to say anything more than that they were experimental."
"Combat boomers," grumbled Leon.
"Definitely," agreed Daley.
"We only have fifteen K-11s and ten K-12s," said Leon.
Daley nodded solemly. "Doesn't look good, does it?"
"Against 70 prototype combat boomers? Nope." Leon stood up.
"Where are you going?" asked Daley.
"Basement."
"The Basement? Why?"
"We're gonna need some serious firepower."
*
"Seventy prototype combat boomers?" asked Linna. She wasn't looking
too well. "We've never faced that many boomers before!"
"No kidding," said Priss. "Hey, Sylia, we've got a plan, right?"
A blue holographic map of the city appeared atop Sylia's coffee table,
with several areas hightlighted in red.
"Mr. Freeze has threatened to strike out at the city and us," said
Sylia. "We have to hit him first."
Priss grinned.
"Based on his psychological profile, past habits, and possible
connections to Genom, I've come up with several locations that he may
be using as a base of operations." Sylia, with laser pointer in hand,
aimed at a loop that surrounded a section of downtown.
"Paradise Loop?" asked Priss. Paradise loop was the old subway system
that ran underneath Tinsel City. It was abandoned by most people when
the new rail system was put in place, but it was still home to the
more unsavory characters of MegaTokyo. It was generally considered a
no-man's land, and its current condition was unknown.
"There's been talk on the street, rumors that someone organized has
made their home there. Priss, I want you to check it out."
Priss merely nodded in response.
Sylia then pointed at another area marked in red. "This is the
remains of the Tokyo Zoo."
"Why the Tokyo Zoo?" asked Linna.
"Part of Freeze's m.o. is an 'arctic' theme," said Sylia. "He's
likely to use the remains of the arctic/antarctic animal exhibits as
hideouts."
"Oh," said Linna. "I assume I've got that one?"
Sylia nodded. "Both of you, this will be STRICTLY a recon mission,
understand? If you do find something, pull back and report to me."
"So what'll you and Nene be looking at?" asked Priss.
"I'll be checking out the abandoned USSD spaceport on the edge of
town," said Sylia. "Nene will be staying in AD Police headquarters to
keep watch on the city and call us if Freeze makes his move. Mackie
will be on standby in the skycarrier."
*
The H-12 stealth boomer was a wonderous thing.
It was a work of technological art. About the size of a small bird,
it looked quite like one too, unless it went into its alternate mode.
The alternate mode looked like, as some Genom employees once said, a
cross between a boomer, a pigeon, and a spider.
It was light, fairly strong, and incredibly stealthy in every way
being silent, small, and invisible to radar. It was also very
experimental. Several third world countries and a small number of
terrorist groups were already lining up to buy it, as they had done in
the past with any new Genom boomer product.
At the moment, one of those little boomers was landing on the roof of
the AD Police building. Upon landing, it opened its beak, revealing a
small laser, and cut through the grating cover to the ventilation
system. With a burst of feathers, it transformed into its 'true'
boomer mode. Then it crawled inside.
And then another one landed on the roof...
And another...
*
"Are you SURE you removed the neutron bomb?" asked Leon.
The garage tech sighed and looked up from the newspaper he was
reading. "YES I'm sure."
"And you're SURE the J-1 system was disabled?" asked Leon.
"Absolutely," grumbled the tech.
"Wasn't this destroyed?" asked Daley.
"Yeah, it was," said Leon, "but the grease monkeys down in the garage
couldn't resist the challange of putting it back together again. It's
almost as good as new, maybe even better."
"Better?" asked Daley.
"As per my request, they added a few more toys," said Leon cheerfully.
"An additional gatling gun, a battery of missile launchers, little
things."
"Um... does the chief know about this?" asked Daley.
Leon's only response to that was a devil's grin.
*
It was a sad sight to see, Tokyo's last zoo.
Linna could imagine the times of days past, the smell of fresh
popcorn, the sound of animals chattering, and echoes of children's
laughter, and all around, a sample of life from every corner of the
earth.
No more.
Now the air was stale, the only sound was of her clattering footsteps
and the echoes of the city traffic far in the distance. All around,
there was samples of every form of obscene grafitti from almost every
gang in the city.
//Linna here, I'm at the abandoned zoo. Heading to the penguin
exhibits first.//
//Be careful,// said Nene.
//Roger.//
Silently, Linna made her way into the arctic exhibit, a series of
artificial caves and glaciers, long neglected.
It felt just a little cold in there.
*
//Priss to Nene, come in Nene.//
//This is Nene, what's up?//
//I'm in Paradise Loop.//
Priss looked warily around the badly lit and decayed subway system.
Normally, it'd be populated, in varying degrees, with roaming packs of
gang members, thugs, hookers, or worse.
It wasn't.
//I hate to sound like a cliche, but it's quiet, too quiet.//
The loop seemed desolate. There were a few homeless taking refuge
here, but otherwise it was empty.
//I'm gonna look around.//
//Keep in touch,// said Nene.
Priss smirked that certain overconfident smirk that made the
others worry. //Who, me? Of course.//
*
//Nene, this is Sylia. What's our status?//
//Linna's looking around the abandoned zoo and hasn't seen anything
odd yet. Priss thinks there's something weird going on in Paradise
Loop.//
//Why?//
//She says it's too quiet. What's your status?//
//In the spaceport, proceeding to the chemical and coolant production
and storage facilities.//
//Be careful.//
//I will be.//

What would Batman have done?
This was the question Mr. Freeze had asked himself.
_Batman would have tried to stop me before I could get my plan rolling
along. That is definitely what Batman would do._
He asked himself this question for a very good reason.
Would it not be logical to assume that the Knight Sabers would do the
same thing? Certainly it would.
This time, however, he managed to turn his old habits to his
advantage.
Freeze had set up ten locations that he thought would be typical of
his habits. Two of them were paying off now as he watched the
monitors before him as several armored figures wander wander into
them.
But SHE wasn't there. The one that had hurt Nora.
_Ah, well. That's what hostages are for._
*
Priss peered into the darkness, the readings on her sensors giving her
cause for some suspicion.
//Nene, this is Priss. I think I'm on to something.//
//What'd you find?//
//I'm looking at a tunnel in the subway system. It's five meters
wide, dark, but looks fairly new, and the temperature inside is about
-5 degrees.//
//Okay, lemme get in contact with Sylia.//
//Okay.// Priss gazed into the darkness, frowning. She never was the
patient type. It took a small amount of willpower to resist tapping
her foot impatiently on the floor.
There was a flicker in the darkness, then the lights turned on. Priss
quickly pulled away from the entrance, hiding in the shadows.
Slowly, cautiously, she peered into the tunnel.
She recognized the figure, suited in a rather simple black and blue
power suit.
"Freeze!" she yelled, holding her weapon arm up. The irony of the
phrase was lost on her.
Mr. Freeze for a moment, did freeze, looking genuinely surprised. He
hesitated a moment, then dodged to the left. Priss immediately opened
fire, but missed due to Freeze's dodge. He returned fire, sending a
narrow beam of blue racing towards her. She rolled to the right, with
the beam narrowly missing her torso.
An interesting thing happened just then, in the span of about two
seconds. As the beam narrowly missed her, some chunks of ice
mysteriously formed in mid-air. Her heads up display showed something
new. It was, she vaguely remembered, the display for the
countermeasure to Freeze's laser. It read <FREQUENCY MATCHED>.
The ice. The display. Priss grinned. The countermeasures were
working.
She rolled forward and to the left, narrowly dodging another laser
blast, and returned fire. Freeze cringed at the incoming burst of
energy, and by reflex tried to cover himself with whatever was at
hand.
The only thing that fit that description was the gun.
It exploded, sending him reeling back and scattering the passageway
with debris.
Priss grinned. Then it occurred to her that she ought to share the
news.
//Nene! I got'em unarmed!// Priss kept her weapon arm up and
approached the prone form of Dr. Freeze quickly.
//Priss? What're you talking about?//
//Mr. Freeze! I caught him by surprise and...// Priss had a sinking
feeling. It started when she got close enough to Freeze to see that
the transparent dome that protected his face was shattered, and what
laid underneath his face was nothing more than metal and wires.
It was a trap.
//Damn!//
//Priss? What's ha-//
That's when both ends of the tunnel suddenly slammed shut, blocked by
very thick metal. Four cannons emerged from the ceiling. A cannon
from behind her fired first, but the beam stopped about a foot away
from her and just turned to ice. She spun and fired at the offending
cannon, but was slightly distracted by the heads up display beeping a
frantic warning.
Then it got _really_ cold.
*
//Linna! Sylia! He got Priss!// Nene was on the verge of panic, and
it showed in her voice. She tried repeatedly to get a signal from
Priss's suit, and once more recieved silence.
//What?!// said Linna.
//He's at the tunnels then,// said Sylia. //Linna, meet me back at
the base. DON'T engage the enemy alone.//
The communications room was suddenly filled with frantic reports of
combat boomers rampaging across the city. Reports of cannon fire and
'ice blasts' were coming in from the N-Police bands.
//Guys! There's combat boomers armed with ice cannons rampaging
across the city! What are we gonna do?//
There was silence for a moment, then Sylia's steady, confident voice
cut in. //We can't handle all that. We'll have to trust the AD Police
to take care of things. Getting to Freeze is our priority.//
*
Like locusts, the gigantic monstrosities sprang across the city,
modified BU-12Bs of some sort and painted ice blue. Wherever they
landed, they indiscriminately fired upon anything that moved, leaving
in their wake a trail of ice. Vehicles were strewn about everywhere,
train rails were shattered like glass, and people were frozen in
expressions of utter surprise and terror.
Regular police and AD Police were drawn into the battle, firing
away with whatever weaponry they had on hand. It was incredibly
frustrating to all that the boomers refused to stand and fight, but
instead spring away, causing more destruction along the way.
The boomers struck all the major communication lines first, destroying
satelite stations and cutting phone lines. The next thing they
quickly destroyed were any power lines in sight, leaving large
sections of the city in darkness. A pack of boomers froze the water
plant to a total stop. Aside from those obvious strategic moves, the
boomers were blazing around in helter skelter patterns, rarely making
a stand for too long.
The few times any of the boomers did stand and fight, the police
quickly learned that their containment strategy (form a defensive line
with men and vehicles and open fire) was an incredibly bad idea.
Scattered through the city, several containment lines were frozen
where they stood.
The count on these rampaging 'ice' boomers, as they were
unceremoniously dubbed, was at approximately approximately fifty. A
pair of K-11 units managed to destroy one in a particularly violent
and brief struggle that not only resulted in the boomer destroyed, but
both K-11 units hit with cold damage beyond repair.
The other K units in the city weren't faring as well and their ranks
were quickly dwindling. Things were looking very grim for the ADP.
Sitting in his office, Chief Todo listened and watched as his forces
tried their best to stem the tide. It wasn't looking good.
Then, it looked a little better, or tremendously worse, depending on
your outlook on life. the Chief didn't have a great outlook.
Over the frantic noise of the units reporting in their status,
one particular message rang clear to his ears.
//Holy shit! It's the D.D. Battlemover!//
"WHAT?!"
Todo's mind raced for a moment. Another battlemover loose on the
city? No, it can't be. Wait, there was that battlemover that Leon
and the Knight Saberes captured.
Wait.
Leon.
//Hey Chief!//
"LEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!"
*
Leon McNichol was In Charge.
He'd been a little late joining the show, but that was due to his
following a few hunches about Freeze's whereabouts (a few abandoned
buildings on the edge of Aqua City, an old superconductor factory, and
a few others) that led nowhere.
But now he was here, and had arrived just in time to save a downed
K-11 trooper and his squad from one of the ice boomers.
"Hey, you guys alright?" asked Leon. The squad looked a little
roughed up, but otherwise ready to fight.
"Yeah!" yelled one of them. "Nice piece of equipment ya got there,
McNichol!"
"Damn straight! Now let's get out there and kick ass!" The squad
cheered and rallied towards the nearest hot spot, where the 'Leon
Brigade' began their heroic (and soon to be legendary) battle for
MegaTokyo.
*
Sylia's mind was echoing with doubt as she ran quickly out of the
abandoned spaceport. Shouldn't have separated the team. Shouldn't
have given Priss the Paradise Loop. Shouldn't have taken another
damned search and rescue mission to begin with.
//Um... guys... I've got a situation here,// said Linna nervously.
//What's going on?// asked Nene.
//Still in the zoo. Polar Bears, four of them. Definitely boomers.
They've got ice laser cannons built into their mouths.//
If it weren't for Priss being caught earlier, it would've been a funny
moment for everyone.
//Nene, get out of there,// said Sylia.
//I can't! They're blocking the exit to the building! Aaah!//
They couldn't tell what was happening, but the sound of cannon fire
and metal clanking on the ground echoed through Linna's comm line.
//Linna!// cried Nene.
//Hold on, we're headed your way!// Sylia hopped on her motorcycle and
raced at full speed, hoping she'd get there on time. //Nene, tell
Mackie to get to Linna's position NOW! I'll meet him there!//
Over the Sabers comm system, there was the sound of explosions...
//Hang in there Linna!// yelled Nene.
...pounding feet...
//I'm running out of room! Hurry!// said Linna desperately.
...inhuman roars of frustration...
//Just a minute more, Linna! We'll be there!// said Nene.
...a frightened scream...
//Linna? Linna?//
... and silence.
//LINNA!//
*
The blast shutters and bulkheads slammed down, isolating the 29th
floor and the 3rd level of the basement from the others. The
connections from the other terminals in the building to the computer
core were severed physically. Half a dozen H-12 boomers were fusing
themselves to the supercomputers, slowly but surely taking over all
systems.
Meanwhile, in the power core in the 3rd floor of the basement, four
H-12 boomers were fusing with the generators and making some very
dramatic modifications.
*
The AD Police had figured a few things out. They'd tried to spread
their forces too thin earlier, and that was why they ended up losing
ten K-11 and three K-12s battlesuits, as well as four battalions of
officers in the first ten minutes of conflict.
They soon realized their mistake, regrouped, and used superior numbers
to take down any roaming ice boomer they could find. The cost of such
tactics was that the other boomers were entirely free to rampage while
the AD Police concentrated their efforts.
Chief Todo watched all this and sighed. The men were doing the best
they could, but he knew that the politicians would be out for his head
when it was over. The damage to Tinsel City was pretty bad, and the
downtown stadium was trashed as well. The Diet building had a nice
view of the stars at night now. There were an innumerable amount of
other buildings that were getting wrecked too, he imagined.
It was enough to send a shiver up his spine.
Actually... it was kind of cold in here.
_Cold?_
Veteran instincts were screaming at him. Something was wrong. No
sense to panic though, just carefully explore the possibilities.
He lumbered over to the thermostat and checked.
_15 degrees celsius?_
He tapped it gently, and then the air conditioning units kicked in and
sent the temperature plunging downwards. And then he realized what
Freeze was up to.
//Attention! This is Chief Todo! Evacuate the building NOW!//
*
Mr. Freeze rather liked Dr. Miriam Yoshida's plan for destroying the
AD Police building. The problem was that he was distracted with the
idea of destroying the Sabers FIRST and destroying the building
SECOND.
Mr. Freeze had no such problem. The building was going to be
destroyed, and THIS time there wasn't going to be any long drawn out
and entirely unneccessary prelude.
Might as well make it a little dramatic, he thought. It just wouldn't
be right otherwise.
Hrm. Thirty-nine combat boomers left. It was enough.
He pressed a button.
*
Nene sounded frantic as she screamed over the comm lines, //Linna!
Are you still there?! Linna!//
//Do we still have a reading from her suit?// asked Sylia.
//It's gone! She's gone!//
//Nene, don't panic,// said Sylia.
//Half the team is gone!//
//We don't know that yet, Nene," said Sylia firmly. //Mackie, what's
your ETA?//
//About five minutes, sis. I'm going as fast as I can.//
//I'll meet you there. Nene, try and see if you can slip out of
work.//
Nene's response was cluttered with static, with barely a vowel
audible.
//Nene, repeat that please, we didn't hear. What's happening?//
*
//Sylia? Sylia? Hello?//
Nene adjusted the controls on her headset and tried once more, but the
communications system failed to get through.
"Not now!" she whined.
//Attention! This is Chief Todo! Evacuate the building NOW!//
"What the-?!" Nene reached for her computer terminal and tried to
access the core, but the terminal itself was dead.
//The computer core and power generator areas have been sealed off by
unknown forces and we suspect they may try to destroy the building!
I repeat, evacuate the building now!//
*
A large unit of foot soldiers, three K-11 units, two K-12s suits, and
Leon's Battlemover (it was, in the minds of the men, HIS battlemover
now) had established a front line against a pair of ice boomers that
were rampaging towards the Greenwood apartment complex. The K-11
units, assisted by ground troopers armed with heavy weaponry and
several abandoned street cars strategically placed, formed the
defensive line. The K-12s units were moving in from the sides, trying
to box the boomers in, and Leon was trying to approach from the rear
to fully surround the monsters.
The boomers seemed rather intent on reaching it for some unknown
reason, stubbornly continuing their efforts to reach the apartment
complex.
Then, in a surprise to everyone, they suddenly sprang off to the east
at full speed. Confusion and anger spat across the police comm lines.
//What the hell just happened?!//
//Shut up and chase after them!//
//Go! Go! Go!//
Leon's instincts were nagging him again. Something was _definitely_
wrong. He briefly tried to remember which unit was where, and checked
in with the unit across town dealing with a pack of boomers that was
wrecking the Ota ward.
//Unit 16, this is McNichol, you still there?//
//This is Keown, Unit 16, over. We're kinda busy, what's up?//
//Anything odd just happen?//
//Our boomer decided to turn tail and run, that's what.//
//What direction?//
//North. Why?//
//Checking a hunch.//
No, definitely something odd happening. He thought that Daley might
have some insight into things.
//Daley, you there?//
//Here and in pursuit, Leon.//
//Pursuit? You were at the factory zone in the fault line, right?//
//Well, I was. Me and squad 9 are chasing after a pair of boomers
now, going northeast.//
//Dammit!// He should have seen it coming. Everyone was spread out
so far across the city.
One last thing to check.
//ADP, this is Detective McNichols! Come in please!//
Silence.
//ADP Headquarters! This is Detective Leon McNichols! Respond
please!//
More silence.
_Uh oh._
//EVERYONE! RETREAT TO THE BASE!// roared Leon. //THEY'RE AFTER ADP
HEADQUARTERES!//
*
//Sis! AD Police headquarters is under attack! What're we gonna
do?//
Sylia continued driving in silence, a hard scowl forming on her face.
//Sis?//
//Mackie, we can't do anything. Stay on course and I'll meet you
there.//

>From the view of Quincy's office in the Tower, it was a spectacular
sight, with tracer fire and laser lights creating an eerie and
beautiful show of destruction in the darkening skies. Quincy sat back
in his chair and admired it all, while Madigan stood by his side. She
didn't look quite as pleased.
"Sir, if I may speak freely?" asked Madigan.
"You may," said Quincy.
"What is the point of all this? The level of destruction that we're
estimating he'll achieve is unprecedented. Surely, it isn't just
another plot to crush the Knight Sabers."
Quincy laughed. "Crush the Knight Sabers? If I really wished for
that to happen, they would have been dead ages ago. No, I do this
because I need him."
"I know we still may need him in the future, in the Antarctic
Project," said Madigan.
"And the Romulus Project as well," said Quincy.
"The Romulus?" asked Madigan, surprised. Then she thought about it
for a moment. It sank in. "Yes, he'd be perfect for that. So all
this is just to keep him as our willing ally?"
Quincy smirked. "All that, and a little more. Have a look at the
damage reports across the city. You're a bright woman, you'll figure
it out."
Madigan looked at the various maps of the city, flashing yellow and
red in various parts. She stared at it, as if it was one gigantic
puzzle.
Then the pieces began to snap together.
"Oh... I see." Madigan smiled. She thought about the total package
of what they were achieving with Freeze's technology, his knowledge,
and his rampage. "Quite a lot of a lot of birds with one stone. Very
well done, sir."
"Now you begin to understand," said Quincy. Ah, You might want to
watch this, Madigan." He pointed to one of his monitors, observing
the AD Police Tower. "Mr. Freeze is about to pull off quite an
achievement."
*
//Mackie, hover over the zoo and keep the weapons on standby. I'm
going in.//
The sky carrier hovered overhead as Sylia moved carefully through the
abandoned zoo, weapon arms primed and ready. There were no signs of a
struggle until she reached the arctic mammals exhibit. The area was
littered with large amounts of ice, a few bits of white fur, and some
mechanical litter.
A ribbon. One of Linna's. Frozen solid.
*
The great swarm of BU-12b 'ice' boomers stampeded upon the streets
surrounding the ADP Tower, startling the staff that were swarming out
of the building. Right behind them, squadrons of AD Police swarmed
in, lead by Leon and His Battlemover.
//Don't let them get in the building!// boomed Leon. He took aim,
locked on to six of the boomers, and released the last of his
missiles. His aim was true, the boomers spun wildly, and they crashed
