A while ago I released "Hot".
There was a passage in "Hot" that only came about 50% of the
way to where I was hoping it to go:
Ranma stared openly a moment. To call it a
halter seemed so out of place, since 'halt' neither
described its apparent function, nor was 'halt' any
part of the message it screamed in Ranma's mind.
I was really hoping to plant a lot of images in the readers mind:
- The bouncing and rocking of Nabiki's breasts, (Whithout
using the word Breast).
- The fact that the Halter utterly failed to halt them.
- The raw physical attaction that Ranma felt.
- His gratitude at the failure of the Halter to halt them.
- The halt imperative (meaning "Stay Away") pun,
junxtaposed against the imperative sex appeal of such an
outfit.
- The realization that "Halt" had failed not just once, but
twice to discribe the moment.
- The wonderment at the failure of the language.
Would anyone else like to take a stab at this?
