Um, I haven't seen this myself... but didn't this actually -happen- in the
TV series?

Sort off, but it was Small Lady/Chibi Usa who came to visit her mother in
the past, that being Usagi. It was the driving story for the Sailor Moon
R manga and the second part of the anime (and a pretty good story at
that...). The only time traviling done in the series, AFAIK, has been into
the future.
