Still I always liked Ukyou best so i may be biased on that.
Ever notice how it's often the ones who like her best who put her
through the worst time?
When I wrote Insignificant i did it for a variety of reasons, one of
them being cathartic, another because I like Ukyou and want to see her
be a whole person.
I originally started 100% with one goal, and one goal only in mind. Having
Ranma and Ukyou as a couple. Come on, hands up, how many still think that's
an easy goal?
It can be if Ranma grew up a little. but then if he did that there
might be a good chance of any number of things being an easy goal.
The fic mutated. I'm not glad it did(I WANT a Ranma/Ukyou
story), but I accept that it did, and continue to write it where the
muse has taken me.
I like where the story is going, and of course if you dont make sure
Genma gets his just deserts you'll have about ten people glaring evilly
at you over a computer, a threatening image I'm sure.
I'll admit it to one and all. I can't stand Ranma/Akane stories anymore. No,
There is only so many ways you can put them togehter.
I mean I REALLY can't stand them. The last serious one I liked was Krista's
snow woman one. That was a fair while ago. I can't even take Ryouga/Ukyou
ones anymore. They feel so... wrong. Mousse/Ukyou I can handle,
Its that depression thing again. It makes them feel natural together.
because it's
rarer. New characters and her are almost guarenteed to have me hitting the
delete button. I want a Ranma/Ukyou story.
Eh, some of them are good some are bad, howabout Ukyou/Tsubasa or
Ukyou/Konatsu....
It is Ukyou capacity for self loathing, destruction and despair that draw
so many too her.
Well, that and the really, really tight pants.
Oh well, yeah... but umm.... well i'm looking for deeper reasons.
She doesn't deserve her fate. I'm sure if Caroline sees this, she'll gleefully
point out Ukyou's help in destroying the Saotome's house, and the wedding
desperate times... Ranma did far more than hurt her and Genma well..
lets not go there.
bombing. Shrug. More power to Ukyou, I think. I don't want to see the
boring old wedding argument again, but I will say this: She. Deserved. Better.
Maybe, maybe its the fact that she deserves better, maybe its cuz she
seems to have that pain that so many people empathisize with her and are
almost in love with her.
Look forward to the end of your story.
