Double Ryoko!!!

Chapter One
Extenuating Circumstances
An outpost on the fringe of existence known by the tedious registry of
Research Station 791 of Galaxy Police floated through the silent orbit
it took every (Galactic Standard) 4 days. Life on the outpost was
simple and dull. Its inhabitants were scientists and low-level police,
working together to examine and understand the universe around them a
bit better. It was a repetitious life that they would have wished to
continue...
Commander ChkRa sat at his raised observation seat, calmly scanning
the area around him as he tapped on his left armrest with four taloned
digits. He looked almost like a majestic statue, sitting their wearing
his dark blue command uniform, a half cape draped over his left shoulder
and completely obscuring that side of his torso. His brown fur, touched
with tufts of gray and white. His face, pockmarked with white, gray,
orange and brown fur, a portion obscured by the metallic shell that
covered a large percent of the right side of his face.
His officers, in their multi-hued uniforms, scampered about the bridge,
excellently performing minor tasks such as debris sweeps and hyperspace
traffic controls. He looked at them with pride, even attempting a smile
through his half-metallic leonine jaws when a jar of agony ripped
through him. He reached his uncovered limb over to the cloaked side of
his body and took a firm grip on the blackened stump that was once his
right arm. After the seizure subsided, he returned his hairy paw to
the armrest, barely holding himself together by shear will alone. His
fur stood on edge and was dampened around his forehead. He said nothing
about it to his crew.
The operatives around him did not take notice of this unfortunate
occurrence; nor did they the dozen of times a day it happened. They all
sorrowfully grieved for the fate that placed their elegant Commander on
the Galaxy Polices Main HeadQuarters that day when the energy life-form
known as KAIN attacked and sent the inhabitants hurtling through space
and time.
Their Commander was found four days after the attack, a blackened
half-corpse lying across a sandy beach on Doshtor Nine. His right arm
was gone and the left side of his face was irretrievably damaged. His
right leg was also badly mangled, though not as bad as the arm or face.
His left hand clutched an energy rifle which had been completely emptied
on some unseen opponent.
Now they looked at their Commander with awe as to how a man, or a
Korvian for that matter, could survive such pain with their mind
intact. No one on that bridge knew, not even the recipient of these
thoughts. He remembered nothing of the experiences following KAINs
assault. Only pain, he only remembered the pain...
Suddenly, one of the officers screeched, breaking the silence, the
Lieutenant swiveled in his chair, turning away from his Deep Space
Scanner controls and toward his feline leader, "Commander Chk'Ra! We
have an unknown energy signature off the aft side of the station!" he
shouted.
The Commander, a shocked look of surprise on his face, pressed a
mangled claw against a button on his armrest. A screen appeared out of
nothingness to the left of the Commander, displaying information
relating to the Lieutenant's console. ChkRa spoke, his voice a mixture
of soft leather and harsh metal due to the half replaced larynx,
Explain, Lieutenant. I want details!
An Ensign at an adjacent station, Security Perimeter, turned toward the
Commander and spoke, Sir, the energy is that of a class twelve particle
emission. Only three known ships generate that kind of energy: The
Soyja, the Ryo-ohki, and the Galaxy Police Flagship Shunga.
The Commander turned his head sharply at the Sec. Per. officer on his
right and spoke to her, Which of the three is it then? Only the
Ryo-ohki is reported to still exist.
The Lieutenant then spoke up, alarmedly, It isnt a space ship, sir.
Its a single humanoid life-form. It appears to be female, and she is
not wearing an external survival suit of any kind.
What! Thats impossible! Why are those alarms going off? the
Commander asked gruffly. The red alert alarms had suddenly begun
blaring at full volume. The Commander retreated into his chair, almost
curling into a ball as he covered his only ear from the sound.
The individual is starting up some kind of pure matter/anti-matter
reaction, sir. Shes materializing some kind of energy sword, the Sec.
Per. ensign exclaimed.
I want all shields up and weapons at full armament now. Lieutenant,
find out who this women is! ChkRa ordered. He got up and hobbled over
to the Lieutenants station, balancing on an old piece of wood that had
drifted up to him while he was stranded on that beach so many months
ago.
A blast struck the shields of the station so hard that the orbit itself
was thrown off. If let be after that the station would most certainly
burn up in the atmosphere within two days. But the barrage did not
stop. The first blast was followed up with two more successive
assaults. They battered the poorly unequipped station senselessly. Its
shields flickered and pulsed as each blast struck home.
Sir, I found out who the attacker is! Ugh, the Lieutenant screamed
above the chaos and fell to the ground as a piece of flying console
struck his forehead, tearing a large gash open that bled a constant
stream of blood.
The Commander somehow cradled the boy in his one hand trying to help
but feeling as if he was the current recipient of the attacks, but unto
his already shattered ego. Whos attacking us, boy. Tell me! he
pleaded, as if the knowledge would somehow alleviate the damage incurred
to the station.
(hack)Reeee, hug, yok, ogh, Sssssssssssssirrrrrrr, the Lieutenant
said in a final breath, and he lay still.
Ryoko, ChkRa set the boy on the floor gently and stood up.
Ensign?
Yes, sir? she called out, clinging to her console for life.
Send a distress signal. Tell them that we have been attacked by
Ryoko. Tell them they need to hunt down and kill this blordtwah!
(Untranslatable curse word of the Korvians)
Those were the last known words to be spoken on that bridge. For at
that moment a blast struck the hull hard enough to puncture the bridges
atmosphere. Every officer died a soundless and excruciating death as
their bodys floated toward the exit wound in the ships hull.
Outside, the blue-haired women known as Ryoko prepared her final
assault. She created a large energy ball in front of her and grasped it
with one hand. The ball shot outwards into a long cylindrical pole.
She sliced at the station with this pole, slicing cleanly through the
hull on one side, coming out on the other.
The station separated into two halves and exploded, in a soundless ball
of smoke and fire. The vacuum of space quickly dissipated the ball
until there was nothing but splattered bodies and pieces of hull. The
final pieces drifted toward the unnamed planet to burn up in re-entry.
Ryoko floated there for a moment, and proceeded to laugh, though no air
escaped or entered her lungs. A bit of debris tapped her foot and she
looked down at it. A wooden cane, rotted and burned, still held by the
death throe claws of Commander ChkRa. She picked the object up and
again started to laugh her soundless laugh. And then, as quickly as she
appeared, she was gone.
