Seriously tho, although I know there are Catholics in Japan, I don't
know whether non-Catholics would feel comfortable talking to a Catholic
priest in a "confession" manner. This would be best addressed to
someone much more knowledgeable in Japanese culture.

It would depend more on the person as an individual. I don't think it's
so much the talks would -be- a confession as that anything said in them
would be under the seal of the confessional. So it's more a question of
how comfortable Sylia would be with this.

Plus, we don't know whether or not 'Japanese culture' of today applies to
the MegaTokyo of tomorrow... has there ever been any real indication, one
way or another, of the religious leanings of the BGC characters? (This is
an honest question; I can't think of any, but I may be wrong.)

Just some thoughts. :)
